Can anyone help me use my Nokia 6210/SL as a modem for my Clie NX70V via the IR connection? I can get the Clie to dial up my ISP, but it won't go any further. Clie Mail, WorldMate, AvantGO, none of these will then connect to download into my Clie. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I am setting wrong?
Thanks.

Same here with the Nokia 6340i. I call in to Earthlink using IR, and it connects, but then I get an authentication failed error. I don't know if it's a problem with my phone, my PDA or my ISP.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I've read every message on these forums that contain the words "mobile" and "phone" but I still haven't gleaned what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks.

I still haven't found any help or other info. I'm about to buy a Samsung S200 w/ GPRS and MMS and I'm hoping that it will be able to connect. I never have been able to use my Nokia to connect with my Windows 2000 notebook computer w/ IR, but only w/ a cable. I've heard that Nokias can be contrary w/ Windows, but never before had problems w/ Palm OS. Sorry, but I don't know anyting that can hlep.

I know this may not be helpfull to your problem but i dont think its the phone
possibly try a diferent access no for mobile use??

Hey, I guess it was just my ISP. I'd all but given up on it when I went on vacation, but on a whim I hooked it up while on the room. Bam! There's my connection. It's been always there ever since.

What did you do? How did you have the connection settings and network setting set?

Connection (Nokia phone)
Connect to: Modem
Via: Infrared
Dialing: Touch tone
Volume: Low
Details->
Speed: 57,600 bps (as high as my phone will allow)
Flow Ctl: Automatic
Network
Service: Earthlink (my ISP that took a whole day to activate my account)
User name: --
Password: --
Connection: Nokia phone
Phone: -local access number
Details->
Earthlink has their own DNS numbers that I had to fill in. Your ISP will have to instruct you on these values.
Just point and shoot. It's a bit of a pain to keep the cell phone pointed at the PDA. But since all I've used it for so far is using Clie Mail to access my mail, I just set it up and leave it alone while it does all of its downloading. If I'm going to use a browser (which I plan on) I'll need to find a cable so I don't have to hold the PDA with one hand and the cell phone with the other.
