After Installing the Sony screen protector ( for the NR-NX-NZ series) I saw some dust under the protector that I wanted to remove but unfortunately I was not able to remove the protector. I tried several types of tapes on every corners of the screen but in vain I had no success. I could always use a pointy object but I don't want to risk damaging the screen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards Neil

The screen is made of glass and I've noticed that it is pretty good at being scratch resistant. Have you tried using the stylus? Or just use your fingertip nail.

Yeah I don't suggest using a razor blade until you have nothing left to try.

Unscrew the bottom of the stylus. It should look like a little spatula thing. Use it on the corner of the screen protector. This is the spatula's only known use.

its also used for keeping the stylus in place, so it can be taken out easily.

I have a Tungsten T3 so I don't have the same stylus, I can always use a small screw driver but I don't want risking scratching the screen. I just wanted to lift up the screen protector to remove a spec of dust in trapped under the protector in case it would damage the screen in the long run.
Since I have just installed the protector I will wait till it's unusable and keep these advices in mind when I will eventually remove the protector.
What upsets me is that on their packaging Sony claims that the protectors are easily removable and reusable which is not the case.
They fit perfectly on the T3, maybe a bit too perfectly, and they leave a good contrast on the resolution of the display in IMHO but after this experience I will look elsewhere for screen protectors for my T3.
Thanks Neil

Have you tried using a stick of dynamite?
That usually works, and has worked for me in the past....
SERIOUSLY, when you do get it off BURN IT !! They are the worst things ever made by Sony. Heaven knows that there are better protectors out there.
I had one on my NX70V for around 6 months. It got scratched in the first week by the original stylus i was using. By the 6th month, it absolutely looked like crap.
So i decided to remove it. Tried, tried, tried, tried, tried and finally got it off with a toothpick after everything else failed.
I neartly took the screen off together with the protector. It was stuck on that tight.
Never again ! I use a Belkin protector now which is much better.

aussie...You sound bitter! LOL
I haven't purchased a screen protector yet, but when I do it won't be a Sony...I've heard so many bad things about them!
neil1....you might want to call Sony support and ask them for the best removal method. Certainly there is SOME recommendation they can give us.
When you finally figure it out, be sure to post the solution in this thread for posterity!

neil1 -
You might try gently warming the protector with a hair dryer set on LOW, and held at about 6 inches away. That can loosen the adhesive (on adhesive-type protectors), or softens the static cling type just enough for you to, well, "spear" one corner with a toothpick.
Then slip a credit card or clean fingernail into the resulting gap. The softened protector often separates more easily from the screen. YMMV...
I don't need to tell you to take it easy with the heat there, bub! Hereafter, you might prefer the Martin Fields screen protectors: _absolutely_ clear, very light adhesive, extremely durable, and nice stylus feel. I've tried all of them - these are top drawer, IMO.
Speaking of feeling, boy, I do feel for you. What a pain! Hope you can escape the clutches of that monster protector ASAP! Let us know...

To be honest with you aussie_nx70v that thought went through my mind too but I didn't want to damage the beauiful screen :D
Yes I called the Sony tech support line what a waste of time, just to take my name and address it took the individual who answered my call over 10 minutes so you could imagine how she tackled my question, I had a hard problem understanding her english in the first place.
I have decided to leave protector on and wait till it is unsuable before upgrading to a better brand of protector.
Thanks Neil

Try this: stick a piece of scotch-tape to the end of a flat-end screwdriver. Use the "protected" screwdriver to carefully pry at one end of the protector.
Haven't try this on the Clie, but it worked on my HandEra, when I was using some "cheap" brand protector that needs to be changed every month or two.

I, sorry my secretary with her nail managed to peel a corner of the protector and like in the case of mjhamilton as soon as the edge lifted the whole protector came off with no effort.
Glad its over !

well, I hate removing a screen protector. It feels like I might pull the LCD screen off....replaced my screen protector for a few times already. I learning to get the trick. I find that using the stylus thingy is the best way.
And putting it on was a challenge for me until I read to use tape. :D

Is it the same as the sylus for the NX80? It's so small, I can't unscrew it...

I have a Boxwave screen protector on, and I couldn't be happier with it. A little pricey, but fits perfectly (with just enough room at the edge to make removal not a problem). Great feel, good transparency, and doesn't seem to scratch at all. Its "adhesive" is nice--holds firmly, but is not sticky at all. Just my $.02.

I use the screen prot. for about 5 months now... no wonder the screen got scratch that fast!
There's a way. Use a plastic ruler's end. It will work.
