unstable digitizer - - help!!!

I've got a problem with my digitizer. Annoyingly often, at least once a day, sometimes more , the stylus is off just enough that I can't select what I want. Hope I don't need the double 'ss' words - sony service. :(

It's only off by like 1/8 inch or so, but I have to go to the digitizer screen, and then it's usually fine while it's turned on, even if I'm playing a game for a while.

Anybody else had this?

Another prob - I carry my clie in my shirt pocket, and sometimes when an alarm goes off, just pulling it out of my pocket turns off the alarm. I whip it out only to be greeted by whatever I was doing last, and the alarm screen never pops up!?!?!

Back to the digitizer problem. I have fixed this problem by replacing the digitizer/glasstop. Apparently the digitizer can get easily damaged if you don't use the screen protector, eventhough the screen may not look too badly scratched. But that does not seem to be your problem.

Certain screen protector can lead to another problem as I posted here (http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29619). It has something to do with my hard graffiti writing creating residual stresses on the screen protector and messing up the character recognition. The fix is to relieve the residual stress by peeling the protector and re-applying on the screen gently. I've been trying to lessen my hard graffiti writing. It is a hard habit to break, but I'm getting there.

Hopefully someone else have better answers.

when you say "the digitizer screen" do you mean calibarating it? If not, go to teh welcome screen and this time when it says tap the middle of each target, do it very carefully. If that doesnt work, you should chagne your glass top/digitizer
