Any thoughts on a good "password vault" kind of program.

I definitely need somthing that will work seamlessly on both a Windows based PC and a T615c.

SplashID seems to get a lot of good reviews, but I saw one disturbing comment that only the passwords were encrypted in the data file...i.e., one could identify account numbers and other information looking at the binary data. I would prefer something that encrypted everything in the data files.

TIA (again)!

I use SplashID. I'm not smart enough to know about the situation you mentioned, but I think it's a great program.

Try using EWallet (http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=96846820030131075222&prodID=9773) .
Its quite good. But a bit expensive though.

I'm actually interested in that as well madman. I do us SplashID, but would like something that encrypted the data. So far I see suggestions, but none addressing this issue.

I've been using "Yaps 2.5" which I downloaded for free. It allows you to customise your catagories for passwords, credit card info, etc.

Can anybody help with the original question?

The allegation that in SplashID only the passwords are encrypted is wrong.  The whole data file is encrypted, including the password to access the file.  [this is according to the folks who wrote the program - See Here (http://www.splashdata.com/splashid/userguide/index.html)  - under the security section]

Watch what you read, and who wrote it.

Here is the quote:
"You can secure your data in SplashID so that a password must be entered to access the application. You will be required to enter the password when launching SplashID, or when you turn on your handheld if SplashID was last running when it was turned off. Once you set a password, SplashID encrypts your data using Blowfish encryption to ensure data security."

So I guess it does. Thanks boomer:)

I have been using Cryptoinfo for about 1 year.

Very satisfied with the product.

I had one tech question sent via email. I received a prompt response.

Any SplashID users tried examining the SplashID data file to see if there is anything human readable?
