I have just been to www.realnetworks.com and it would seem there realplayer for palm is not supported on Clie's.
Is this true, or its not tested?
Being able to walk around my house listen to radio on the headphones is definatley something I would like to do.
Can you listen to other streams, such as mp3 streams?
Sincerely
Ean
I'm still waiting to get out to the States (1 week, 2 days and counting!) to get my UX, but I would hazard a guess that this would be to do with the propriatory api that Sony used for their sound. However IIRC the UX has a standard palm api and it may be that this gets around the problem - I'd be interested to see the results as well! However what I'd really like is a working version of the Yahoo radio player :)

Yep... same here. Not working for the UX50, even with the Palm sound API.
Getting a "System Incompatible" error:
The system is missing features required to run this application, or the system support is out of date.
seems that somehow it's have been specificly written for Palm devices.

I had E-mailed Real about the player to see if they were going to have a solution for the UX50, or clie in general and received a "no" answer. (about three weeks ago)
I looked for the repsonse, but must've deleted the E-mail.
This would be a nice app to have though.

The Real Player people are useless... Their player is garbage and even their desktop software is bloatware.

I think AeroPlayer works good on the UX50 though...

You might want to check out http://www.replay-radio.com/ -- Replay Radio allows your PC to record streamed Radio broadcast as MP3s. Think of it like TIVO for internet radio. You can then play them on your UX later at your leisure. Its an alternative.
Make sure you use a bit rate >= 64Kbps if they are destined for the UX. RR lets you do Less than that (its lowest setting) , but the UX is picky about what it can play...

I believe the point of the original post was to listen to live streaming media.
I'd really like a solution for the UX.
There is an app named Fireviewer, but last time I tried it out, about a month ago, it didn't work on the UX.

The best solution, IMO, would simply be to put an FM radio into the Clie. That can't be expensive. And no, I don't want a radio MS, I'd never occupy my MS slot with such a thing.
I hade a Motorola cell phone once which was a total disaster. The only good thing about it was that it had a built-in FM radio. Nowadays, I have a cheap pocket radio instead, but unlike my Clie, I don't always have it with me. Therefore, putting a radio in the Clie would be the best solution.
Fm radio would be nice but for the fact that most of the radio in the UK is, frankly, pants. A complete lack of variety compared to the multitude of internet radio out there....
