It would be interesting to know what sort of books people have managed to get onto their Clies or onto MS.
What do you use to view the books?

Ihave heard of lots of different conversions of large textbooks for iSilo - in fact, I even saw a Nelsons' Textbook of Pediatrics, but the converted doument made for an unwieldy file - in fact over 4 or 5 megs (maybe more). I decided that these books did nothing for me - they were not readable. I just can't sit in front of my palm for hours of reading, so I still use my hardcover textbooks.
Hey, aren't you supposed to register before being permitted to post?

I have numerous books in iSilo format. As a medical student, it is imperative that I have access to numerous books. I do not have time to search the floors for the most recent one nor to run to the library each time I need to look something up for verification (which happens often). Nor do I wish to break my back lugging around a backpack stuffed with books, along with a white coat full of "pocket" books.
Instead, I carry my T615 and two MS loaded with books. Yes a 4-5 megabyte file takes all of 15 seconds  to load but it is worth it. The PDA is made for portability. Having references accessible wherever you may be. If I want to sit down and read for several hours I will grab the actual book. If I step out of a patient's room and need to verify something I pull out my PDA. Fonts are easily changed under the Options-Display Menu.
Books: Harrison's, Robbin's, Current Clinical Strategies, 5 Minute Clinical Consult, Washington Manual of Medical Therapeutics, Washington Manual of Surgery, and my class notes.
I own the Hardcopies of all books and do not trade since OCR takes a long time to do and format.

Wow, it must have taken ages to OCR the books. Did anyone help you?

One friend with severe insomnia and very good grades.
I realized I was keeping more focus on the formatting than the actual text. But, it was something to do since we tended to skip the majority of the lectures. Also, we tackled this course wise. This occurred over a period of two years.

I have 5MCC, 5MPC , 5MIDC and Harriet Lane from skyscape, which I use in a pinch on the wards. I also use the handheldmed reader to view Harrisons, Neoafax, Redbook and Emergency Medicine texts. Again, I only use them on the wards or when bored when traveling. Don't want to ruin my eyes!

What is OCR? And where do you get iSilo versions of these texts?
I don't tend to keep a lot of medical texts on my Clie. Which is surprising considering how "wired" I am. I have a quick reference text (Harriet Lane for Peds), another abbreviated reference (Kid-o-meter by the Riley Hospital in Indianapolis... highly recommended), and a reliable drug reference (Lexi-comp). I have others on my Clie, but it's rare that I use them. Oh, and perhaps an Infectious Dz guide (Red Book).
Our hospital as internet access at every corner, and I have an MDConsult account. I find it much more efficient to look things up there, because 1) MDConsult pretty much has all of the most-used texts online in their entirety, and 2) you can print it out. Reading large amounts of text on a tiny screen is just too tedious for me.
Also, once you print it out, you can use your Clie to take notes into your MemoPad (I recommend using Decuma). That way, you have the relevant information on hand if you need it again. :)

Whoo, I have plenty of books:
Through Skyscape I have 5MMCC. Through iSilo, I have Harrison's, Washington's Manual, Current Medical Diagnoses, ACLS guidelines, a textbook on Laboratory Tests. I have Lexi-Drugs as well.
I know someone asked earlier about medical programs. I find MedCalc and at times, MedMath extremely useful. However, I believe MedMath is a little inaccurate in its calculations or seems to use too much rounding. I found this especially the case whenever I'm trying to calculate Crockoft-Gault. I like Eponyms and Epocrates (as a supplement to Lexi-Drugs - I like to look up drug information that is confirmed by more than one source). The latest version of Shots is useful to show you the complete recommended immunization schedule.
Usually, however, I use 5MMCC, and the Laboratory Test textbook the most. If I want to read more complete information on a topic, I prefer using UpToDate or like someone previously said, MDConsult.

Good info... I'm not a big fan of Epocrates. From a pediatric standpoint, many of the drug dosages are simply not correct. Use with caution!

I agree that Epocrates dosing information on drugs is less than reliable. I like using Epocrates for looking up drug pricing and adverse effects. I would not suggest it for dosing of a drug usually and especially not if the patient was a child. If I'm asked to suggest the dose of a drug quickly, I usually use Lexi-Drugs and then I double-check my work with MICROMEDEX which mostly shows well-referenced information. If it's a pediatric patient, I usually turn to the Pediatric Dosing handbook (which is available on Palm/PPC) and double check with MICROMEDEX again.
Back to subject of medical textbooks, I think the screen on my Sony Clie 710c is a little tiny to be doing that kind of reading. The iSilo verison of Harrisons I have is difficult to navigate to find the topic I want, or maybe I'm just not using it correctly, I don't know. I know you can use the search feature, but my old Clie is not exactly the fastest ship in the ocean. More of a tugboat.
