I did my search. Actually quite a few!!! A friend of mine wants to sync both his new NX and some older Palms on the same PC. Sony's instructions say that it only syncs with their desktop(4.0.1). I have seen posts that it will sync under Palm's desktop as well(4.1). What would be the easiest route to sync multiple devices of varying OS's on the same desktop. Is it as simple as just installing the Sony desktop and syncing under that?

Yes, the Palm Desktop v4.1 works well. If the other Palms have a different HotSync name, I don't see a problem. If the HotSync name is the same, then your only asking for trouble.
BTW, it's obvious(not you) that some are just plain lazy to register or bother to read previous posts.

Larry, even though you're a Netfront hater I appreciate the reply....;)

There should be no problem to do so.
I used a Palm m505 and Clie T625 at the same computer with the Clie desktop 4.1 (and Outlook via desktop to go). Of course, different Hotsync names were used.
Now I use the Clie T625C (OS4.1) with the Desktop of the Clie NX70V (OS5) without any problems.
I havenīt noticed any incompatibility between "sony"-dekstop and original palm devices yet.

So why the big warnings with the Sony desktop for the Clie? Are there some driver issues for the Clie to communicate or is it just the usual Sony exclusivity issue?
