the only two ways I know of are to use the switch or close the screen.

You could turn the backlight off. I do that with Zlauncher... not sure if its an option with the default launcher.

You can turn the backlight off at any time in any application by holding down the power button until it goes out.

Only two ways to turn off the screen are hold switch and closing the screen as UZI said. :D

I just leave the palm close, and use the remote to play the songs, I'm pretty sure the screen is off, cuz theres not light emitting from the sides.

On the NX80V:

- to shut-down the screen: just close it. After passing 45 degrees (approx.) the screen will go off. Open to switch it on again.

- to shut-down the PDA (without using any button): download Okey (freeware app); it will turn the PDA off by closing the screen. Use any button to switch it on

Cheers,
