Does anyone else have this problem—

When I download from Palm Gear, the download screen comes up and then just SITS THERE. (Yes, I hit the download now button) Sometimes the download never starts, and sometimes it does after a lengthy delay.

I could go elsewhere, but almost everything I want to download directs me to Palm Gear!!!

Noodles,

This is the first that I have heard of this issue. What programs specifically are you trying to download as I have had no other complaints of this nature.

I haven't had that issue. I know ZLauncher takes a longer time to download, but that is it.

The trouble seems to be hit and miss with all downloads.

I demo a lot of software so I am always trying something new, several times a week.

What happens is I get a little drive symbol in the lower left corner of the IE window.

Sometimes there's a delay and then the zip file shows up in a window with the contents ready to load. Other times it delays and then I am prompted to begin the download.

Once the initial delay is over, downloading proceeds a normal speed.

Spooky, huh?

I've noticed it from time to time, too, but I just assumed the servers were busy.

This has happened to me once in a while, but I also assumed server overload.

What REALLY chafes me with PalmGear is that God-awful search engine! Get the title exactly right, or you come up empty. No fuzzy logic here!

Also, that lock-out on linking to the developers' websites. Puh-leeze.

Or, on the flip side, if you do a search for say ZLauncher you get about 20 themes before you get to the actual program. It is a poor search engine, I would have to agree.

The one here at CS is not that good either.

Probably due to technical things I don't understand:)

I've noticed that Palmgear is slow[er] than normal, but it dosen't bother me
