View Full Version : Can't connect with WiFi!

I have a Linksys b/g router with 64 bit WEP enabled and I am unable to connect via WiFi. I have tried disabling WEP, trying channels 1-8 and manually configuration (vs. DHCP). Nothing seems to work. All other devices in my house have no problems connecting so, I'm at a real loss here. I keep getting a 0x1212 timeout error even when I'm 3 feet from the router.

Any help or suggestions?

So, is no one else is having WiFi connection problems?

Can you see your network when you scan? Have you aver been able to connect to any other network?

I'm using a LinkSys access point with 128-bit WEP.  Didn't have any problems connecting at all.  The setup seemed to be straightfoward.  Were you able to scan your network and find the SSID?

I have been able to scan for my network with no problems, regardless of channel and WEP level. The scan, select, and setup goes great. I have tried no WEP, various sizes of WEP, and keys with and without the 0x in front (e.g. - 0x35AC4FC205). I have also tried manually entering all of the information SSID, etc. instead of the auto scan.

All of the above results in the same 0x1212 timeout error. My laptop, my wife's computer downstairs, and another handheld with WiFi card all connect instantly at all sorts of ranges. So I know its not my router.

I have not found any sort of log or anything, so I cannot even determine what is happening. Just "timeout"...

If you are using MAC authorization you need to first turn that off so your UX can register - then add the MAC address of the UX to the AP. That is what I have done and I use a Linksys WAP 11.

Hope this helps

Has this now been resolved? It sounds the same problem that I'm experiencing (albeit with a Netgear WAP and Router). I'm not using MAC authorization - nor WEP.

Must be set in B/G mode with no wep and double the firmware on unit

I have the exact same problem, and used the similar method that the original poster tried, and I still get the same message, have you solved it? Please let me know!

Here is a stupid suggestion: try rebooting the router...

For a while, it connected fine to my Linksys, but one day the UX didn't want to connect. Had that timeout error. Just decided to reboot the router and everything was fine.

But then again if you have never connected, rebooting might not work either...

my wireless works fine but I plan on using wep in the future...does this mean that wep doesn't work on ux-50?

Hey I'm on a network that has a standard Username Password Domain security that pops up when I go online. I use my laptop wirelessely just fine. The broadcaster is my own Dlink and at home my UX50 worked on it just fine, but here it gets the signal and pops up a "invalid network settings" window on the UX50 when I try to connect. Do I need a WEP key? How do I connect to the network here? (ie Do you know what info I need from the almighty geeks in IT).

Thanks

I can't connect to my wireless interface that's in my asus WL-HDD.

no MAC control, no WEP. tried restricting it to 802.11b only (no g) all doesn't work

And i'd love to use my ux-50 as web-remote control for my webbased mplayer frontend!
