I traded in my first NR for a new one due to some screen problems. When I did, I forgot to put the remote back in with the original. I really did forget, honest. Anyway, I now have two remotes. I was going to sell one, but now I use one in my car and one at work.
I'm not sure how to get one, but I'd be willing to bet that Sony sells them. Try their website firs.

Be forewarned: All types of remotes (even for regular portable CD players and MP3 players) cost quite a bit. The price may surprise you, especially because this is a special order type product, so expect to pay a premium on top of the Sony price.

I'd search for the word "dire" in the forums because I know that there was a link to the sony parts store that if you entered the model number (also in the same thread) then you could buy one. They were $30 though.
PS: "dire" was in the title of the thread, that's why I suggested it.

medcat99 : I wondering if you could sell one of the remote controller to me? Because Sony support always slow and expensive. Please let me know how much u willingly to sell.
I know any headphone will do for the NR but I just like the original design as it actually come with the stylus. Thanks for the site.

EBAY
I had the same situation and that's where I found mine (US$20 for the remote only, or US$30 with the included Sony headphones - but you can use any portable headphones).
Search for "Clie" and "audio", "Clie" and "remote", "Clie" and "controller", etc.
The controller for the N710/N610 is identical (although they come with different headphones - the N came with clip-over-the-ear type, and the NR came with earbud type).
They are there on ebay for two reasons - either because the same people who sell us their Clies later find the remotes :), or because someone buys a Clie, and then sells on ebay everything in the box that they don't use, to make some extra pocket money.
And sometimes dealers will sell on ebay everything except the handheld, because they sold just the handheld separately to someone who broke their screen.
