Here's my prediction. I say that the next big thing after the NZ won't be another PDA/Camera. I think it will be a PDA/TV.

We know that Sony has developed the tuner technology late last year, which is either internal or of the MS variety.

We know that Sony regards its versions of the PDA as entertainment-centric.

What a great convergence concept. I frankly would be more interested in such a convergence with a focus on video (high speed video) than a camera.

Anyone else thinking this way? Or does Sony just come out with another bigger camera+ type of PDA?

I hope your prediction is true. TV/Palm device would be fun.

I just haven't figured out how they would deal with the antenna issues. Sticking a cable port on the unit would make it look really clunky. Maybe an antenna nub like the iPAQ 5455.

What really suprises me is how close to the vest Sony is with future developments. It is amazing that there was no leakage of the NZ.

Yea, that would be a cool idea and would fit with Sony's ideas as PDA's with an entertainment focus. I usually read on my PDA when I have nothing to do, but it would be great if I could watch TV sometimes. I've never owned one of those pocket sized TV because I wouldn't hardly ever use it because I would never bring it with me at all times, but if I always had a TV in my pocket, that would be nice.

My prediction of the next Clie model will be a NZ without the keyboard/camera with more wireless capability (net video). More RAM is required as well as a faster processor to deal with realtime video. Maybe a TV tuner sled would be the acceptable solution.

Why not a little bit of everything? megapixel camera, FM and TV tuner, etc etc etc

And you think other people's idea won't make the device so huge...

It looks more like the nX than the NZ (although the black color looks cool)

Not always. For example, we all know the TG50 (http://www.brighthand.com/article/TG50_Gets_FCC_Approval) is coming soon.

Actually, a plain old TV tuner would be more trouble than it's worth. For most people, the ability to watch only 4-5 broadcast channels would be a giant step backward from being able to browse hundreds of cable stations.

And, as mentioned, reception for many people will be awful without a good (large) antenna. In my area, even a good antenna can only pick up 2-3 stations.

And, of course, most stations will be broadcasting in HDTV in 5-10 years--I doubt Sony will be making HDTV tuners any time soon.

Nah, I think can safely pass on having a TV on my PDA.

Maybe a PDA / mobilephone combo ?? I know Sony has P800 but that was Ericssion product and it does not support Palm.

I don't really think that the PDA/Phone combo is really the best way to go. It seems like any of the combos out there are not really that good at being a phone, and not that good of a PDA either. I think thats one reason Handspring has really fell behind in the PDA market. They were doing real good with the Visors, then they went to the Treos. I think once Bluetooth is in more and more phones and PDA's, people will really see that that having a PDA and a phone seperate, but connected over Bluetooth is the way to go.

Cbulock, agree with you....that's why i don't buy Tungsten W. My T68 broke after I slammed it on the wall and was in the market looking for a replacement. I can't find one that has the same features as T68 and end up buying another T68i.
