Have just purchased a UX 50.
Is there any way to sync it to a Macintosh?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
james.
Markspace's Missing Sync lists the UX-50 as compatible for USB hotsync.
However, it does not support network syncing over WiFi or Blue Tooth. As the UX-50's cradle doesn't provide USB hotsync this means that you'll have to plug in the cable manually each time in you want to Hotsync.
Hope this helps

Correct on WiFi, but it is possible to sync over Bluetooth. It's a little tricky on the setup at first, but it works. It's slow, but it works.

You can sync over Bluetooth! I use Missing Sync in conjunction with iSync on the Mac and it works! WiFi sync is not supported.

It worked for me perfectly till I installed the new Mac OS X Panther (10.3). Now I can't syncronize.
I have Clie UX-50, It workes fine with Mac OS X 10.2.6, iSync, missing Sync and Palm Desktop Software 4.1.
Anybody is using similar configuration and works with the new Mac OS X 10.3?????

Sami....I have the same config as yours. Did you try re-install the different components? For me, it was a very straightforward upgrade to Panther and nothing broke.

I think one of the components of the 'Application Support/palm HotSync' was corrupted. I changed them with the older ones and everything is working fine now.
Thanks anyway.

I only sync with bluetooth on the mac..
you can also do really cool stuff on the mac that PC users cant like salling clicker plus you can use iCal, datebook and iPhoto.. oh, and drag and drop function in iTunes! :D
just use the built in bluetooth tools in OS X you can send and receive files at full speed..
powerbook 12" + UX50 = happy sonic

same set up as sonic, though i've been using the cable as bluetooth is soooo slow. do like the itunes drag and drop feature though we need to figure out how to get mp4 files to play on the ux.

Can you get the itunes/iphoto drag and drop features to work over BT? I cant work out how to shre the UX like that over BT. :/ Other than that it's fine though..
Probably faster using SMB and wifi to get the mp3s across anyway. :) But the pictures would be nice.. I've found using resco, the beam pics over BT option is pretty cool though..

well the bluetooth speed limitation is actually only with hotsync, if you send a file to or from the clie it should be just as fast as USB (1.1) :)
oh, and you can use SMBmate on the mac with the built in windows filesharing..
