it's quite tempting for the external battery, since I have to charge my UX almost daily now, everynight before I go to sleep. It's really starting to become irritating. My mobile's battery life goes longer than this. :p

how big is it?

Some pics hard been posted here, seem toi be a slightly thicker than the cradle if i remember well ; but for me that's npot very important as i will mostly use the battery to refill the ux by night for 3/4 days away trips

I ordered mine from SS on 9/23 and received it on 9/25. I had it shipped one day shipping and paid $105.47 after shipping costs & tax and with using my promo discount for registering.

i just got mine today through ss w/ the 25% registration discount (~$105 incld shipping&tax)

c0mm0n it's lot thicker than the cradle...
at first i thought it's going to be as thin as cradle, and was denitely disappointed that it was thick and heavy....

but oh well...at least it's going to give me the juice i need....

In JP OS, "\" is displayed as Yen sign.

I love the UX50, but the battery life is the worse I have ever seen in a handheld. I ordered the battery too. I thought it might be the same size as the cradle, but apparently not. The smallness of hte UX50 is negated by having to put a huge battery on it. Plus, if you have it sitting on the cradle and are typing on it, that has to be a pretty huge stack. Reminds me of my old iPaq 3700 "brick" with its dual PCMCIA slot/battery sleeve :D

I know that the Yen sign = \ (backslash) in a JP OS...

but is it possible to type \ though? I am trying to connect to my english PC&Mac via smbMate, but have no success since there is no \ (backslash)...

oh i forgot to mention that the extended battery comes with a carrying pouch...which will fit box ux50 and the battery
