What is being used to create skins for OS5 VG area on the NX?

If you use PhotoSkin it will turn any NR VG into a NX VG.

I want to create my own, and the problem with PhotoSkin is you can't create images over the standard button areas. (eg. Home, Calculator...)

Okay, new question.  Why is NXSkinGen inverting the colors in my image?  I figured out that it has to be a 640 x 480 8bit bmp image, but the colors are all wrong.

What I have found is if when you first start the app, click on EN, then hit export, then hit the Save button that is next to the open button. That will save a BMP that is 640x480, 8-bit color, and the correct colors needed. Then I use that bitmap in Photoshop and place the VG skins in that bitmap and when you go back into NxSkinGen, the colors will be right.

Does anyone know how to use NXSkinGen to do a status bar that allows additional buttons to be added via PageDown Hack?

cbulock: maybe you could write a nice tutorial for status bar skinning as well... that would be great :)

But Page Down Hack doesn't work on OS5 devices, right?

It does with TealMaster :)

Yeah, it works great.  You just have to buy TealMaster as it's the only hack manager, currently, that works with OS5.

ok. got the NXGen program up and running but what iam confused on is how do you get your BMP into the NXGen program! I read your tutorial but how do you actually get the bmp into the upper left corner?? I would like to have that flag you used can you post it here? Can you please be a little more detailed as to how you use this NXGen program? Thanks!

Man, I feel really stupid! I can't figure out how to create my own skins. I have NXskinGen and I still can't get it to work right. Boy, I guess I will have to just download you guys skins.

You're not the only one! This thing is HARD to figure out, and has REALLY rotten documentation. BLAH! I wish somebody'd just make a grey one JUST like the original, but with the color icons. (There's one here for the NR that I loved!) That's all I want & I'll be happy. I thought it would be easy...

Very nice. Is it possible to assign areas of the status bar to launch different apps? What program or hack is used to do it? I've got a number of regulars and don't have any more space on the Standard Clie Favorites Launch Bar.

This is actually a status bar for the NR, set up for PageDownHack.

I'm hoping somebody'd be willing to re-do it for the NX. If you have an NR, it will work for you, and I'd be happy to send it on...PM me with your address.

Actually, PageDownHack works fine with TealMaster....but the spacing is off, due to the VG arrow being in a different place, and the sound icon....

I just want some colored icons for home, menu & search . . . ::whine:: I'm perfectly satisfied with OKey & the 'invisible' hardbuttons....

You know what you may want to look into? McPhling for OS5. I just checked to make sure it worked with the 'standard' launcher, and it does. I've got it set up to pop up using the record button on the hinge . . . but you can use the back button, the scroll button, or whatever.
