Has anyone been able to get IMAP working with your PDA?

I'd like to be able to synch my UX-50 with the IMAP server before I leave for work, read and write responses while I'm on the train, and then, when I synch at work, have the responses sent via authenticated SMTP, as well as having the state of the read/deleted messages updated on the IMAP server.

Anyone been able to do this? What software do you use? Do you synch via the network or through an email client (like Outlook)?

Thanks for any tips,

Saanvik

I use Palm's Versamail 2.5, which syncs IMAP and does attachments just fine :)

Been using iambic mail (also known as part of Agendus Pro).

Details here (http://www.iambic.com).

I like how it's integrated with all my contacts as well as with my schedule/to-dos. That's only if you buy it as part of the Agendus Pro bundle.

I use the ClieMail for my IMAP account and it works fine.

Best imap client is versamail, miles away from iambic mail ;

Clie Mail doesn't handle imap, i just tested it to confirm

Best imap client is versamail, miles away from iambic mail ;

Curious...how is it that much better than iambic?

I used Versamail 2.0 for a while, and it was just okay. I realize that Versamail is up to 2.6 now, but I couldn't get myself to buy it without demoing it first. (not to mention that I can't buy the latest version even if I wanted to...it's not for sale?!)

My main problem with Versamail 2.0 was that it worked unreliably with my office's Exchange server, and it's lack of 'html' support (which seemed to be the default way of sending for all my co-workers) really killed me. I would get lines and lines of html code for every one line message.

I saw the feature list of Versamail 2.6, and I see that it now supports html messages, but without trying it, I can't commit to the rather expensive price tag.

What, specifically, do you like about Versamail? I'm curious.

For my needs, iambic does just fine, and it's considerably cheaper, too. I also love how it integrates with my todos, contacts, etc.

If only Palm released a Versamail demo...

Look for a topic by lmale named "mail clients" he made a quick overall look ;

I'm using Versamail 2.51 by now, got it from palm.com - it's very expensive - and no demo as u mentionned

Just a thing to tell you how versa does better, i misconfigured my account and got for a 250mail download with iambic mail.;the slow progress made me stop it asap ; i went for the same mistake in versamail but as it was going FAST let it download all headers to see if versa would handle them all well and it does !

Landscape mode works like a charm with codediver :cool:

That's what I thought, but was hoping I had missed something.

Does Versamail support TLS/SSL for retrieving IMAP messages. I was not enable to determine this from Palm's site.

Has anyone successfully used Versamail with folders and subfolders in your inbox?

A friend of mine with a Tungsten C tried it out on my network, but it just lumped all the messages in all the folders and subfolders into the inbox. In the short amount of time I had with it, I couldn't figure it out.

My server is a Cyrus IMAP 2.1.13 Server running on Redhat 8.
