View Full Version : AcroPilot.prc-does anybody know what this is?
I have this prc on my T665, but I don't ever remember loading it. Every time I run it, my Clie says the file can't be found. I have been unable to delete it. I cant find any reference to any such program on PalmGear.com. Any help would be appreciated
I believe it's Adobe Acrobat for Palm.

Acropilot.prc is what shows up in HotSync when HandStory is syncing clips.

Do you have Adobe's Acrobat Reader installed? MINE did get corrupted and I had to delete it and re-install it...
Have you used MS Import and tried to delete the file from the PC?

I've seen Acropilot on my handheld, but I have never installed Handstory before.

This comes up when i hotsync too and i have never installed handstory either. I have installed acrobat reader before but deleted it. Filez, Mcfile, nor the built-in delete program can find acropilot.prc anywhere on my handheld or memory stick. I too would like to know what it is.

Acropilot.prc comes with Adobe Acrobat Reader for PalmOS.
the package has 3 files:
AdobeReader.prc <-the main application
Acropilot.prc <-god knows what that does, it's like 6k
PrintMe.prc <-supposedly doesn't work with OS5, so don't install it (i didn't, acrobat reader works fine without it).
i don't know if Acropilot.prc is needed for the reader to work.. but i don't really care about 6k of memory, so i installed it. hope this helps.

It's part of Adobe Reader for PalmOS and I think acropilot.prc is used for synchronizing with the conduit.

Yeah, the problem is that HandStory doesn't clear the last message when it starts synching. Acropilot is synching Acrobat files. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the apology. :) I've been confused for quite a while now. :D :D ;)

Try a soft reset and delete the file first thing it re-started.
I had similar problem with Scrabble recently - there is a Scrabble-specific scrabblezlib.prc file which is installed along with Scrabble. It stays after I deleted Scrabble and wouldn't let me delete it. Managed to delete it after a soft reset.

I believe AcroPilot.prc is used when you initiate a "Best settings" operation from your desktop.
You can find some helpful tips on this on the Adobe Forums site below:

you have to deinstall the desktop part of adobe for PlamOS too - disabling the condiut alone doesn't do the trick

Well, I can remember AcroPilot from the IIIc days. It is a companion program to Adobe Reader for Palm OS...

After a successful HotSync, AcroPilot.prc deletes itself (or, at least, its icon) from the handheld. You should only see it if your HotSync doesn't complete successfully.

dont think this is true, i have it on my machine and have successfully hotsynced quite a few times (!)
