Delete it and see what happens. :) Of course, make sure you have a backup first...

Isn't that from the SystemUpdate file that Sony gave out? It deals the WiFi connection,I don't recommend deleting it, although it's a big file. Or you can try, just do a backup first. :D

On Japanese CLIE, the update was done after installing the WIFI update.

thanks guys for the reply...

i guess its better that i leave the file alone.

one question, what apps do you guys use to uninstall apps? i.e. unisntall manager? i feel each time i try out some sharewares and found out its crap, so decided to uninstall it. but the problem is it doesn't get uninstalled completely, seems to always leave some residue

what is the best way to clean up the unwanted files?

Dealing with orphan files? I've gotta go for FileZ
www.nosleep.net

usually you would see a similar file name to the application you've just deleted. (you'll know when you try out FileZ) :)
Just remember to always do a backup before trying to delete any files.

This is a good app to have in your arsenal:

Uninstall Manager 235b2

You can find and buy it here:

RIGHT HERE! (http://www.palmgear.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=software.showsoftware&prodID=46248)

Here's a little descriptive info for ya:

REQUIRES PALM OS 5
For Palm OS 3.5/4.0 use Uninstall Hack

When you launch applications, from the built-in memory or the Expansion Card, they save data onto your device. This data is used by the application when active, and normally, will be deleted when you delete the application itself.
Each and every application on your device has to have a unique Creator ID which has to be registered with Palm.
Applications, in general, use their Creator ID to tag the data they save (files, preferences and various settings) on your device.
When you choose to delete an application, the system knows which files and preferences it needs to delete by comparing them to the application's Creator ID.
However, some applications (intentionally or due to a programming error) save items under a different Creator ID than their own; these items will remain on your device, occupying your precious handheld memory for good.
When using Uninstall Manager to remove applications, they will be completely deleted, including items saved under a different Creator ID.

Features:

Monitor applications for saving items under a different Creator ID than their own.
Monitor file installations using the HotSyncŪ Manager.
NEW: Sandbox mode - A carefree environment to try out new applications.
Available in the Registered Version:
There is no need to open Uninstall Manager to completely remove applications!
Uninstall Manager automatically removes monitored items when using your default application launcher to delete applications.
* In the trial version, you have to use Uninstall Manager itself in order to completely remove applications.
Monitor and delete applications directly from the Expansion Card.
Find items monitored between a specified time period.
Completely new Graphical User Interface for easy access to advanced features.
320 X 480 Hi-Resolution.
Context-Sensitive Help.
Many more usability features.
Available in English, German and French

I have it running in main but only because I haven't tried to move it.

Give it a try and let us know what happens. Of course, back up your unit first!!

I LOVE Uninstall Manager. This program is definitely worth looking into and the support they offer is phenominal.
