Update and lose hotsync?

I'm wondering if anyone else is having the problem I've just experienced.

I'm running Windows XP, and when I went to sync my t-665 this morning, I heard the normal "bah-dunk" that indicates Windows has connected with a device, but my Clie kept trying and trying, then said it could connect.

That's odd, I thought, it worked yesterday. I tried again -- same result.

So I restarted the computer and did a soft-reset on the Clie -- same result.

Gee, I didn't install anything -- oh wait, I installed the XP update yesterday!

Maybe it's just me, but did anyone else install the XP updates and lose their ability to hotsync?

Did you reinstall the Clie desktop software?. The installation of WinXP may have wiped out the Sony USB driver.

I reinstalled "Palm Desktop for Clie" and now everything is working fine again.

But it's good to know that simply "updating" Windows XP can wipe out the USB driver, or otherwise frustrate a hotsync.
