I stopped by Comp USA tonight and saw that they have an iConcept usb sync/charging cable + cigarette adapter + wall charger (115-240V) + 3 travel plugs for $9.99 ($39.99 - $20 instant saving - $10 mail-in rebate). It's for purchase from 2/3 to 2/8/03. I just got one myself.

I don't know the part number because I picked it up from a local Compusa store.
The box is at home. I just look at compusa.com and I think it's this one:

You should check out the $29.95 travel kit charger at ebcases http://www.ebcases.com/Search.bok?category=Cables
I got one and it works great. Charges in the car, outlet or from usb on my laptop. Hotsyncs too!

Why do I have to get a $29.95 kit when I can get a $9.99 travel kit that has the same things as you mentioned?

the iconcepts kit also has the international plugs for the people who go abroad. It's a nice set up, I picked it up last time it was on sale for $10 after rebate.

The only thing the i-concepts, Compu USA part 295737, does not do, that the boxwave can do, is retract. However, the i-concepts can use multiple charging scenarios: US,UK, Euorpean & Australian outlets, USB, and auto Cigarette Lighter. The boxwave can't do all that (the retraction is cool though). The i-concepts will hotsync throught the USB as well. All this for only $9.99.
I bought 2.
Today is the last day for the rebate.
Thanks MikeLang for the heads up.

Grrr... I just tried CompUSA.com and I can't get the product to get into My Cart. I tried to create an Account, but I can't seem to login. When I call the CompUSA number, it's continuously busy. Anybody else experiencing this today?

I just placed my order online, although shipping and tax added another $6+. Thanks for the tip, Mike!
To the previous question, you don't have to create an account. Just order it without it.

Caution...The small print on the item's page says "Note: "Date of Purchase" for rebate validity is based on invoice date, not order date." Given that the item ships in 3 - 6 days, it's unlikely that the invoice date is going to be today, making the rebate useless. Clicking the rebate link on CompUSA's item page yields an error that the page can't be found. So it's anybody's guess what the actual rebate stipulations are. I went Sakar's homepage (iConcepts parent?) and searched for rebates but that was also a deadend. I think ordering today you can just about be assured the item is going to cost you $19.99.

Yeah, when I ordered mine I looked all over for the rebate form. It didn't exist. I emailed CompUSA for info about this and as of yet haven't heard anything. I figure I'm not gonna get the extra rebate but hey, $20 bucks off isn't bad either.

Thanks, I just went and got one. It was $19.99 on the spot with a mail in coupon for $10.00. You have to buy it today and mail it by 22nd.

Rebate form (PDF file) doesn't exist on CompUSA website. If anyone has it, care to share?
Thanks...... Jack

I ended up schlepping to the store - got there as they were rolling down the gates. I pulled the last package from the shelves, got it for $19.99 and a rebate form on the CompUSA receipt. Thanks for the heads up! :-)

Glad that you guys got it before the end of the day (2/8) :-)
One more note: I have been using it since I bought it for sync/charging thru the USB and it's great. Now that I look at the other gadgets that came with it: the wall charger said: "input 100-240 VAC output 12 VDC". What the ...? Isn't the USB port supposed to be 5V dc? I was trying to probe the voltage at the USB port on the back of the wall charger but there is no easy way of probing it with my DVM without shorting things out...

Voyager, please let us know what you hear. I'll cancel my order if that's the case...I already got the Clie car charge for Christmas...so this was just a back-up, with the USB feature.
And thanks for the caution, kss.

I bought mine at a local CompUsa store and the rebate form was printed on the top of the receipt. I asked and was told that there is no separate rebate coupon.

Just bought one off the internet. It allows you to print a receipt and the receipt date is marked 2/8/03. I reckon if I include a copy of this I may be OK :)

I printed the receipt also but I think that it will be usless because there is no place to send it for the rebate. I think KSS55442 posted the correct information. If it goes by the invoice date then you're looking at Feb. 10th as the purchase date, which is past the rebate deadline. I'm not concerned with the $10 bucks so it really doesn't matter to me but anyone who purchased this explicitly for the rebate, should reconsider. When I hear from CompUSA I will post their reply.

No, I'm not worried about the $10 bucks either. I just know that it never hurts to try.
Forgot to thank you, Mike, for giving us the heads up on this deal. Even without the $10, I feel it's a pretty good deal.

You're welcome, Srevets. Me too I considered it a $20 cable until I receive the rebate check in my hands :-)

I finally received the charging kit today. Can someone (Mike maybe?) post the address to send the rebate form to? Need to mail by 22nd. 10 bucks is well 10 bucks. Thanks.

I picked this up at full price and was still happy with it. It's very versatile. I do wish the USB cable had a 'sync' button on it. I've seen some that do.
