Hi All

I was bored so I created an icon for ClieSource. Here's how you use it. It's called 'cliesource.ico':

Changing your browser Favorites icon

1) Unzip and save 'cliesource.ico' somewhere on your PC, and note where you saved it.

2) Go to your browser's Favorites and right click on 'ClieSource' > Properties > Change Icon > Browse

3) Find the cliesource.ico that you saved in step 1 and click Open. Then just click OK, Apply and then OK again.

4) Look at your favorites again and you'll see the ClieSource icon now. You can drag and drop this icon on to your links bar or desktop.

Creating your desktop icon

1) After you've done the above, go to your browser's Favorites and right click on 'ClieSource' > Send To Desktop (create shortcut)

2) View your desktop and you should see a larger version of the ClieSource icon. You can move this icon around any where you like on your PC

Above has been tested on Win XP Pro, running Internet Explorer 6

Creating a Favicon (ClieSource site administraor only)

1. Rename the 'cliesource.ico' to favicon.ico

2. Upload favicon.ico to the homepage directory so that the URL would be: http://www.cliesource.com/favicon.ico

3. When people bookmark ClieSource now, they'll get the logo in the browser's address bar

(You probably know what a favicon is already site admin, but I thought I'd elaborate for anyone who doesn't know).

P.S. I know the icon isn't that great, but hey, it's a start :)

Thanks

Well, I can't see the attachment on the page?! Am I missing something obvious?

I tried uploading the cliesource.zip again but it says that the attachment already exists on this thread ... but I can't see it!

OK, I now see the attachment ... I guess attachments get moderated? In hindsight, good call as I'm sure things would get outta hand if they weren't moderated!

Thanks for the icon! I was thinking of doing something like this since all my favorite websites that I visit daily are in my Quicklaunch bar and they all have icons except ClieSource. Now my Quicklaunch bar looks right.

Hmmm... when I try to change the icon by selecting cliesource.ico, it says the file contains no icons. I'm running Windows 2000 and IE 6. Any ideas?
