just a question about converting videos for the clie (from an ignoramus like me)

i have this VCD dat file from which i took one scene that i converted to a 320x240, 23 fps, 300 bitrate (video), 16-bit, 30 bitrate (audio) mpeg1 file using Inter.... im quite sure that the scene was less than five minutes, however the file size was already around 14 MB. then using the clie's image converter, i now have a 25 MB file

what gives?

now assuming that the clie's movie player can handle mpeg1 formats, i just copied the original 14 MB file into the memory stick (same location as the MQV files), unfortunately it is not being recognized (yes i used the player's option to look for mpeg-formats)

what gives? are there some restrictions on what works with movie player in regards to mpeg1?

in general, i would like to ask suggestions on what would be the optimal settings for a good balance of qualityand size? fps, bitrate, resolution, etc.
and what would be the best utility/software for this?

thanks a lot

I keep asking questions but I dont get any replys. I havent fallen across the answer yet but I will and I will post it for you. I can get the movies on the NX80 to play on my PC but not vice versa. No matter the file type.

this may be a dumb question, but did you you rename the files MOV00001.mpg? My understanding is that it must be in this file name for it to be recognized by movie player.

It's all in the forums. I' ve read that info 2 days ago!!!
So for the ones who can't do a search on the site, here's the answer again:

The files have to be renamed MOV00001.MPG, MOV00002.MPG and so on. Format must be MPEG1 CBR 320X240 around 350 Kbits/sec. As for sound Mpeg Layer 1 92 kbits/sec. If your files are different, convert them using TMPGEnc
Place the files on your Memory stick in THIS folder:
/MSSONY/MOML0001/

Try the following link to my website. I've been out of the loop for a while so there might be a better way of doing it now, but it works:
