The black behind the neck earphones (headphones or whatever) you get when you buy the NX have started to go weird on me. When I put it into the remote, the right side does not seem to work. When i twist the plug-in end around then the sound come back on for the right side. And if i make a movement that swings the remote, the sound will get lost again on the right side. I tried using other headphones and there arent any problems at all. So i've concluded that the problem is between the connection of the remote and the earphones. Since I've plugged other earphones into the remote and it has worked fine, i think the problem is the plug-in end of the earphones. Has anyone had this problem, and do you know if the SONY warranty covers the earphones???
[ON ANOTHER NOTE], do any of you guys also think that the cord for the remote control is poorly desinged and somewhat retarded? The cord for the remote is very long and for me, ends up at my chest when i put the Clie in my pocket and use the stock headphones. This makes it impossible for me to clip the remote anyplace except to let it dangle across or clip it on my sleeves. I have friends that clip it on their collar, which i personally thing looks really retarded. And also, if i use my other full length headphones, the remote control cord will be too long when it is combined with the headphones. Then, I would have to stuff the remote cord into my pockets to have the headphone cord not reach the floor
Just wanted to know if anyone else has been annoyed by this or know a solution???

When I got my NX70v, I just dumped that dumb headphones that came with it. If you have noticed, the length of the headphones are like 12"....inch or 12'; which ever one it is.
And for the remote, here is what I usually do, I hook the wire for my behind the head headphones I bought seperately from sony, down my back inside my hoodie, or my jacket. I'm usually cold and I always year a jacket or hoodie. And I will clip the remote to my hoodie pocket or jacket pocket...or sometime, to my pants; the place where it holds the belt. And my PDA goes in my pants pocket. It works well. It doesn't reach the ground and it is shorter.
I have two problems with this setup;
1- the Remote Control Clip sucks. I clip it to my jacket and the slightest strangle and it comes right off. Wish they could implement a stronger or harder clip, or something.
2- When I bend over or crouch, my cable will hook onto my feet or something. It always does and even when I'm walking in tight crowded areas. When it gets hooked on, my heaphones generally strangle me and I have to stop and un hook it. Just a pain.
If there was a bluetooth headphones and power consuming, I'll get one immediately.

The only reason i kept using the SONY headphones was because the sound quality was pretty decent.

I thought the sound quality on them was terrible when compared to Apples included earphones with the Ipod. Those are decent headphones so anything below that isn't good IMO.

I use both the stock earbuds and some Sony fontopias I bought for high noise environments. The stock earbuds are fine for me. I usually wear shirts that button down the front, run the cords inside the shirt and clip the remote on the shirt flap. I agree it would be nice if the clip was a bit stronger as it comes off at the slightest interference.
I use the fontopias when I'm on an airplane or mowing the lawn. They block out external sounds as they fit inside the ear. They also have a long cord which can come in handy. However I find them a bit uncomfortable and revert to the standard earbuds for other times. With the long cord on the fontopias I can clip the remote on my jeans pocket which is handy.

I dumped the stock ear buds quick... found the cord from the wand/remote too small without other headphones.
I do really like the remote though... think its great :)

I am using the curret stock heasphones, I really dont care for them. I plan to buy noise-cancelling soon. As for the meantime, since I snowboard, my jacket has an audio pockey ythat runs inside and out to the neck, so I can just listen to music and have the remote clipped to my outside pocket.
Just curious, whats that litle black tip at the enfd of the remote?

It's a stylus that you can use, if you want to use your CLIE while using the remote or your want to edit your playlist, etc.
The clip on the back of my remote broke after a month. Not covered by the warrenty, of course. And if I want a new one from Sony? $50 and it's mine. Ain't they sweet?

Yeah... that sucks big time, and too bad they're not compatible with the MD Remotes. Besides, they should sell better remotes with a LCD screen or something as one of the accesories.

I use headphones that have a short cord and are designed to be used with an inline remote, so the long cord length doesn't bother me.
