I have a Compaq MP3 player that uses MMCs, and, to be honest, I like the memory stick better. I'm not trying to be a Sony apologist, but from a human factors standpoint, I think the MS wins. Yes, MMCs are smaller and that can be a good thing. But it can also be a bad thing. Try picking an MMC up off a smooth floor sometimes. It's hard. They're also much easier to lose. (Yes, I've lost one :( These complaints probably sound trivial, but if you live with them daily they start to add up. Of course, it would definitely be nice if there was as much competition in the MS market as there is in MMCs. Then we could all add more memory for less money.

There was news about sony adding usb to the new clie's or something. I wonder if you could plug one of those 6-in-1 card readers into the USB on it and use any kind of memory card on your clie. that would be cool.

Possibly the only form of media more obscure than the Memory Stick. I'm kind of upset that mine doesn't support 5 1/4" floppies, but that's just me...

Even though it might not be as common right now as Memory Stick, I think in a year or two there will be more devices that will accept MMC/SD cards than those that supporyt Memory Stick. It seems like just about every new device is supporting them.

Yeah there's tons of ppcs that support MMC/SD. I personally think that CF is the perfect size, it's small but not so much that it's easy to lose or hard to pick up.....
