I just got a NR70V about a month ago and am really getting into Kinoma movies! But the 128 MS limitation is killing me. Is there any way to use memory stick pro on my NR70V?
I was able to get Shrek down to 122 MEG but it's not the best in the world. Thanks for any help THIS FORUM ROCKS!
Sorry dude.. unless they make an adapted for MS pro.. NR is too limited and outdated to use such MS...

Get a MS select, 128MB x 2, your only option, except upgrade to NX.

What do you mean by 128x2?

MS Select is two 128MB memory stick in one package. There is a switch at the back of the stick, you select which 128MB stick you want to use. The total memory capacity is 256MB but you can only access 128MB at a time.

What you can do is split the file (or movie) to 2 different segments. You can't fit a movie that is over 128MB (approx.) into one side of the memory stick unless you broken the movie up into parts.

Then whats the point of actually having a MS switch if you can just cut any files into 2. And how would you cut a kinoma movie in half?

The point is: Standard MS slot cannot access anything that's bigger than 128MB. It's the only way to carry more than 128MB in one stick.
The point is: If you cut the file into 2, 120MB + 30MB, then they will fit in one MS Select. MS Select allow you to carry 1 stick in stead of 2.
MS Select is like the good old cassette tape, flip it over to use the other side for more storage.

You cannot cut a Kinoma movie in half. You can cut the original movie. There are many tools around that allow you to do this. For avi, use virtualdub. For quicktime, just use quicktime player. For mpg, use Tmpgenc.
