I've been looking at TealLock (sp). I haven't installed it yet cuz I haven't done all my homework on it. It LOOKS like it will work for my needs.

PDA Defense for OS5 full version is expected by the end of March. They currently have a OS5 (for the TT) out for beta. From the emails I have received it will work without major issue for the NX but they hope to make it fully compliant with the NX.
I have used it for my last (2) PDA's and it works very well. Also has encryption for the card.

There are a couple of security software reviews at Brighthand that may help you decide.

you wouldn't happen to have a manual for PDA defense would you? i downloaded the TT version and it "appears" to work just fine on the NX, but there is no manual included with the download and none to be found on the PDA Defense website!!! If you have one or can offer advise please post or attach to this email!
thanks!!

Sorry no manual here either. I have been emailing them on PDA defense and found they are quick to respond. What issues are you having?

I'm using TealLock. It works fine for me, plenty of settings to customize it.

I kept having random lockups with TealLock for some reason. I haven't looked into it any further as I am still in the experimentation phase of my NX experience.

If anyone's interested, i installed PDA defense for the TT (the only version they have out that works with os5) and it seems to work just fine... only problem is i have this sneaking suspicion that PDA defense is what has screwed up my internal clock somehow (it's off like a second per second literally)... but PDA defense installs itself direction into your pref panel - so there is no launcher icon to actually delete... anyone (clieconverted?) know how to uninstall this puppy so i can figure out if it fixes my clock issue before reinstalling it??

to begin with, make sure that you are using the native launcher and not some 3rd party launcher to uninstal. from what I recall, to uninstal PDA Defense, go into the application first and then select "uninstal" from the menu then go to the native launcher and uninstal in the normal way (you may have to then soft reset the device) I don't have PDA Defense in front of me so I hope that I'm close on the above directions.

yeah that seems about right - wow i've never seen an app with it's own "uninstall" feature built into it's menu so didn't even think to look there...

there's only one file that won't delete - PDADefenseCardlib... it says it's "protected" how do your forcefully delete "protected" files?

just guessing, maybe you have to reinstal PDA Defense then delete all the filters of encrypted databases under the "Options" menu then repeat the deletion of the application again, or failing that wait for the OS 5 v. of PDA Defense to establish an overwrite of the PDADefenseCardlib. If you can't delete PDADefenseCardlib, then it seems that it is a benign file IMO.
