Hi,
I am trying to upgrade an app (PktQuicken) on my Sony T665 and am getting strange behavior. Not sure if this is a Sony problem or generic to the PalmOS. But I haven't seen it in previous Palms I have owned. This is the second app I have had this trouble with so I don't think it is a PktQuicken thing.
If I just try to HotSync the new software over the old, it fails with the following error from HotSync:
HotSync operation started 02/06/03 09:11:04
- Already exists: f:\Program Files\Clie\MC\Install\PktQuicken203.prc
Install synchronization failed (400B)
Next, I tried to remove the existing app using the "applications" built-in program. This gives "Unable to delete PktQuicken". I tried DB Explorer and it, too, did not work.
I checked Palm's web site and decided that a warm reset might help. If this were an OS extension it would be running all of the time, so I can see why warm resetting the Palm would be the way to delete that. However, nothing changed after the warm reset - I was still unable to delete it.
Why would my Clie be unable to delete an app?
Many thanks for any help on this,
Chris Daft
