Yup, thats what happen to mine. I was waiting for my appointment and when I wanted to pull out my UX to see what time it was, it wasn't there!! Searched all my pockets and nothing, went running back to the car, no where, then to the dining hall where I had my breakfast and still nothing. That was the last place I used it as I was adding some appointments. I asked if anyone turned it in, and nothing :(
Went back to my appointment and people still waiting, after 15 mins of waiting after appointment due date, the group decided to leave, so I went back to work where I had a message saying that the cops found it, went driving fast over there and was soo happy to see them have it. After asking how they found out it belonged to me, they said they did some investigating...open it up and sure did, I saw their fingerprints all over it!!! apparently they didn't find the stylus during the investiagation, but hey, sooo glad they did found it and gave it back! Never leaving without checking my pockets again!!!!

I haven't had it that bad, but I do tend to leave the thing at home or at the office, as I have to consciusly grab it, when I have it on me I don't feel it.

similar story. i was at a state building where i work a lot and placed my palm505 (i think that was what it was, the first edition of the slim metal unit) on the counter. I walked away for a minute and it was gone. i had no idea if i left it somewhere or it was stolen. i asked around at the state building for days and nothing. about two months later i get a message that a police investigator was at the state building asking if anyone had lost a palm. word got to me and i got it back. it was a lady in her 50's who was a kleptomaniac (spelling?). when she was picked up she had a ton of stolen items. the DA knew the Palm was expensive so had the investogator go back and talk to the lady and pressure her to tell them where she got it. By that time I had already purchased another one but either way that was incredible that i got it back. im glad you did too.

the best part about this story is when i went to the police station to get the Palm back they showed me around and i was amazed. this was in irvine california. the whole city is under surveilance with live cameras. they have a room with about 60 tv monitors.

It you get the leash from http://www.the-leash.com/ you won't lose it! My husband lost my digital camera and we never found it. When he bought the UX50 I was scared so investigated! It works great.

How/where did the cops find it?
