Hi, its `finally done now :)

cause of my not very good english i tried another way then writing an long tutorial: I configured a mIRC script for you so you have only to do some settings.

first download the edited Invision MIRC Script here:
http://www.thyraz.info/downloads/Invision.rar about 6.5MB packed with WinRAR 3.0 (you need =< 3.0 too to extract get it at ww.rarsoft.com)

First extract the invision Folder inside to your c: root (should be c:\invision later) if you don`t want to make aditional settings then explained here (needed for fileserve to find the path).

Then lauch c:\invision\mirc32.exe
Goto File http://www.cliesource.com/forums/images/icons/icon2.gif Options http://www.cliesource.com/forums/images/icons/icon2.gif under Category choose the first: "Connect" http://www.cliesource.com/forums/images/icons/icon2.gif Enter your E-Mail Adress, Nickname and alternate Nickname.

Now close options and press the red connect button.

After connecting #clie Channel should popup automatically, and you should be in the channel.

Now to the next Problem, what to do to get files? ;)

First type "!rules" and you get the cannel rules
READ CAREFUL! :D

Now to see the servers type "!list" and you get something like:

File Server Online Triggers:«/ctcp ClieUser !gimmeall
Sends:«0/21» Queues:«0/6» Accessed:«61 times»
Online:«0/8» RCPS:«13.7 Kbs by user» Served:«11.2MB in 11 files»
Current BW:«0.0 Kbs» AQT:«No Wait» MOTD: -= serving Cliestuff=-

Now the command we have to use is the trigger:
so copy and paste: "/ctcp ClieUser !gimmeall"
after you pressed ENTER a new window (fserve explorer) should open. On most fserves u can now navigate doubleclick on dirs and downloading doubleclick on files. (in other case talk to the people in the chan how to do it by hand)

pressing sends button will show you speed of the people getting files in the moment. button queues will show you how much people are waiting before you.

So that should be enough for starting. Else ask here or in the channel (should get faster response)

Last Part now is to share Files for others (You dont have to, but it would be nice if you do this...)

You have to put these files to c:\invision\fserve

right click in the channel http://www.cliesource.com/forums/images/icons/icon2.gif Options [img] Server Controls http://www.cliesource.com/forums/images/icons/icon2.gif Options [img] Fileserver http://www.cliesource.com/forums/images/icons/icon2.gif Options [img] Silent Start

Now other people should see you with !list (you cant see yourself so ask someone for a test of your server)

So now I have to go, hope that you have all understood what i want to say *gg*

Cool, Thyraz! Thanks for setting up the channel. I'll be back.

For those familiar w/ IRC, just find an open server and /join #clie. You may be redirected to another server (as I was).

Also, IRC has been under attack for weeks! Use this site to find open servers:
http://edk.dyndns.org/servers/

Cheers!

Hi xyeta, sorry but u cant use any server u want. IRC is not like www. where all is connected together, there are different networks.

the server u postet are from dalnet, we are in the AtomicChat Network, so u should use irc.autobotnation.com
and as channel #clie (the program I uploaded is preconfigured so it will connect automatically to this server)

jep, connet to irc.autobotnation.com and join the channel #clie

I have no MacOS so I cant say how exactly the whole process works for you.
But the Fserves are based on a mix of query-messaging and dcc-send. So it should be no problem which program u use. Join clie and simply ask when u have problems.

Ok i need some help so that i can help you

If someone would give me a step bye step process or a program that will do it for me.

I have about 200 gigs of movies that i want to convert to MQV. I just dont normaly do any video stuff besides ripp my own DVDs. Now these programs have made it almost mind less. To the point were i really dont know what is going on. I more or less put the DVD in and in a few hours i get a movie. Now if there is a way to make it this easy or a very simple step bye step system

I have willing to starte a Fserver on IRC and have all of these videos avaliable to everyone. Depending on were i am I have the range of T1 to DSL to give you the movies at high speeds.

So all i am asking in return is a set by step

Please help me

Drexer: Are you already able to convert the movies to MPEG1? Please read www.vcdhelp.com or www.doom9.org and read how to convert DVDs to MPEG1 (VCD). They have step-by-step guides. Now, after you get MPEG1 (something.mpeg or .mpg), use the Image Converter application that is on your Clie's CD to convert them. It is VERY easy to use, the manual will show you how to use it if you're still confused. Also, when you choose to Output the MQVs, put them to your hard drive instead of your Clie (choose a HD drive letter). For full length movies you need to use the Long Mode, which gives crappy quality.... for better quality, use VirtualDub or NanDub to split it into two halves and do each half in Standard Quality. As for IRC, read clieirc.cjb.net

Converting to MQV in Long Mode is really fast, maybe an hour or two?

Drexer
02-20-2003, 02:30 PM

iebnn
02-20-2003, 03:00 PM

Long mode is horrible quality, not worth it.

Whether or nto the dcc chat window stays open doesn't matter.
