Hi

Does anyone know what makes the LCD screen on the Sony Clam shells models rotate ?

I know there is a micro switch near the swivel point on the base, is there anything else that will cause the orientation to flip when the screen is rotated ?

Thanks

Yes, it's all controlled by the microprocessor. Even the hold button, the power switch, brightness, all of it is under CPU control.

Yes.
Have a fried hold your Clie in front of you. Now, that friend should rotate the Clie 180 degrees so that the screen is now upside-down.

Now, to achieve proper orientation of the screen simply stand on your hands. I recommend having a wall near by for support the first few times you attempt this manuever. Also, I've found it slightly difficult to operate the Clie from this position so generally I stick to the normal method.
