I just shut off my computer (powered down).. plugged in my USB Cradle (PEGA-UC50) straight out of the Sony UPS box received just moments before.

Hooked up the power cord that came with my SJ-20 to the back of the USB cradle and then powered up my computer and slipped my SJ-20 into the cradle.

WooHoo.. the recharging light on the SJ-20 lit up, life is good! WooHoo.

Um.. pressed the HotSync button and my clie screen came up with jarbled half screens overlapping itself and then went blank.

Now I can't even turn on my clie.. in or out of the cradle I can't even turn it on. What gives? Sony Cradle just destroy my best friend?!?!?

PANIC!!

Soft reset wouldn't even get the SJ-20 to come back on.. just did a hard reset (sigh).

Do I dare slip in my brand new beautiful terrorist cradle again?

(( Pouting )).. all that text entry I did at work last night is now lost. Wimpering.. should have saved memo-pad data to the Memory stick. At least the direct USB cord that came with the SJ-20 is restoring files off my desktop right now (desktop override handheld) so I'm not too far behind the power curve.

Doh.. all my files entered at church last night also.. OI!!

Minute by Minute update-->

Just slipped the SJ-20 back into the cradle while it was (ON).

Took out my stylus and brought up hotsync and it wouldn't work. I canceled the process and then looked down.. went. hmmm.

Pulled out the USB cable out of the front of my desktop and put it into the other USB slot I was using before with my other cable (the one that came with the SJ-20)... tapped Hotsync on my SJ-20 screen and it just worked perfect.

WooHoo.. Just Just pressed the hotsync button on the cradle and it worked perfect... Phew.

Summary: Cradle first try crashed my SJ-20.. had to hard reset. Reloaded off my desktop and switched USB cable to known working USB slot and it works fine now.

Bad connection (dust in never used USB slot) on my computer perhaps the problem?
