Hi!

just might sound completely idiotic but I have some basic questions using the WL100 CF card:

1: I am used to CSD or GPRS connections; what are the differences?
2: Can I just use any hotspot available?
3: Is there a password and login name needed, cause most of them are still free...?
4: what are the general connection speeds?
5: Do I have to sign up a contract with every hotspot provider I would like to use?

1) The WL100 ties into a LAN only!

2) Yes, if it's compatible

3) No login or password, it may use a WEP Key for encryption, SSID for the wireless access point, some may require the MAC address to be added to the router. A lot depends if the security features have been enabled or not.

4) Theroetically 11.0 mbps, more like 2.5

5) It all depends and only if it is required.
