Just wondering what people's feelings on bluetooth are.

I love my Bluetooth headset and Ericsson T68i. I sync my desktop PC (Outlook) to my Phone using Bluetooth and I can't wait until the day I can sync my Clie (without a seperate MS) using Bluetooth. I must say that setting it up initially can be daunting for the neophyte. That's probably why it has exploded in popularity in the US.

Currently I can type SMS messages on my Clie using my Stowaway but have to hold the phone up to the infrared port to send it. With Bluetooth, I'll be able to send SMS messages and connect to the Internet using my cell phone (perfect for those long dull meetings), all the while my mobile hidden away.

I think I would love bluetooth more if Sony weren't taking such high priority on it. I still feel 802.11b is a very important (if not more important) option to have...

Naturally I am a NR-70, a PDA with Bluetooth capabilities but not 802.11b. Kinda silly in my book.

After getting a bluetooth-capable phone (a T68i) & the Jabra headset, I'm a new convert. I picked up the Bluetooth memory stick from Expansys, & was able to quickly transfer the phonebook from my Clie to the phone. I had a Motorola v60i previously & used to synchronize through TrueSync, but I always found the sync speed atrocious even though it was USB-based. Now all I need to do is pick up a Bluetooth USB adapter for the PC & pawn off my 2.4Ghz phone.

For those looking to go WiFi or Bluetooth & still have a decent cordless phone, be wary of the Vtech & AT&T 5.8Ghz phones. From what I gather, they're only 5.8Ghz one way & still use a 2.4Ghz back channel. I'm unsure of the Uniden model. Maybe Siemens will come out with a better offering soon.
