Im looking for a Very small bluetooth phone that works with t-mobile. Im using the nokia 3650 which is a great phone if you like carrying a brick. I know sony phones are small but I want to stay away from them as much as possible. They all have RF performance problems(I can have my phone and have full signal but my brothers t68 will have none and we use same carrier).
Anyone know of any?

While I realize you wish to stay away from SonyEriccson products based on your experience with the t68i, I suggest you check out the t610 just the same! It's a greatly improved model over the t68i with better signal handling, more features and virtually the same size. I use one and find it quite good (with better signal aquisitino than my Sidekick had).
About the only downside I've seen is the screen washes out pretty badly in bright sunlight, but not to the point of being unusable.
You've got two weeks to return it if you don't like it as well so there isn't much risk! Until the Siemens SX1 is released, there isn't much that is small and fully featured like the t610 from what I've found.
Good luck!

It doesn't sound like you are iinterested, but I do have a brand new T68i sitting in the box, on the shelf at home. I am a Verizon customer and I toyed with the idea of changing carriers and numbers; an idea I nixed due to changing numbers. (it would be too confusing professionally to change)
PM me if you are interested.

If you're in the US, in Nov. I believe the law goes into effect that you can change providers and keep your number.
I've thought of changing providers for a cooler phone, but I like Verizon's service.

I think it is November 24. I would also like to say that the SE Z600 phone will be coming out if you like the clamshell design.
You can check it out here:

the s56 is tiny, but the reception is crap. I had one for a few days.... Everyone I called complained that I sounded like I was sitting in rush hour traffic... I finally gave up and bought a 3650. The T616 looks like a good compromise if you want to give that a shot...

Actually the reception on the s56 is very good, way better than the t616 (a true descendant of the t68i). The problem with the s56 is the extremely sensitive microphone and very weak speaker. The combo is deadly. It really really wants to be used with a headset.

The Siemens S55 definitely IS bluetooth and Class 10 (faster) GPRS. I know, I have one, use it, and love it - with TMo service. highly recommended. Small and light, and just plain works. Not hard to find for about $200 with NO activation!
No complaints re volume, reception, or anything.
TM
PS - and it is Nov 24 that number portability will happen

If that is the case, and I'm sure that it is, I will be buying a Siemens S55 and taking MY number to T-Mobile.
Thanks for the info-

Mea culpa, mea culpa! My bad, I was thinkiing of the SL55 which doesn't have Bluetooth. I actually like Siemens phones and look forward to the release of the SX1 as my best potential next toy.
As a gesture to make up for my mis-information above, here's a link to a review of the S55 you're considering.
Enjoy and have a Clie Day! :p

I have never been able to comprehend what people are talking about when it comes to Sony phones and their supposedly poor RF signal.
Walking through the streets of Manhattan, sitting in my steel, concrete and glass office building, I still get excellent reception with my T616.
Granted the number of bars may appear low, but I have long learned to ignore such phone meters and rely on my experience with actual call quality while using the phone. My experience tells me that among the 5 phones I have used with three different providers through the years, T-Mobile and the SE T616 has been the best combination by far!

The RF bars on an SE phone may appear to be lower than on other phones because SE phones refresh their signal bars more frequently than other phones. RF bars really don't mean anything...as long as you can still make/receive calls.
I've owned a SE T610 since the first week it was released and I've had no reception problems (expect for places where my network coverage isn't that good of course). I use my SE T610 with my TG50, paired by Bluetooth, wirelessly surfing. SE T610 is an awesome phone. :)

Maybe this will clear it up.
If you can come into my basement and using t61x, call the FEDEX IVR (1800GOFEDEX) and get me a quote on the cost to ship a package between any two zip codes in the continental us, I will _buy_ a t616 and donate it to the charity or person you designate.
If I can do the same experiment above, using the same two zipcodes you provide, and get a quote from the fedex IVR, using an Siemens S56, you buy a Siemens S56 and donate it to the persons or charity I designate?
Deal?
Now, thats what I mean by having poor RF.

Actually it DOES have bluetooth capability, but as you stated correctly it's only a Dual Band phone without the US GSM frequency of 1900.
Damn...
Guess we'll just have to wait for someone to release a tri-band wrist model

Well after using Ericsson T39 for a couple years I wanted to replace it with a good phone with no frills and S55 is great, my first Siemens mobile phone but it has a great potential and is nice too. Works great with Clie BT over GPRS. Be careful in Europe, with certain carriers works only with special modem settings, not the default palm driver.

sorry about the s55 also I was thinking SL55 (which looks great but not bluetooth)
As far as sony Rf performance heres a few of the MANY sites that talk about sony rf performance
http://www.mobiledia.com/reviews/sonyericsson/t610/page10.html
http://www.arcx.com/sites/Ericsson%20T600.htm
http://www.mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Page=6&Id=391
and these are the t600's... The t68i and t68 (same phone really except for a software upgrade) have even worst rf performance.
I live in NYC and im with my brother with the t68i and he gets disconnected at when I never do (unless in a subway). I also go to Flordia which tmobile isnt strong in (gsm wise) and I very little have problems where my brothers phone is basically unusable there (in ft lauderdale area)

I had a t68i, then went to a Nokia 3650, now I have a Siemens S56. I love this phone. Reception is 10 times better than the t68i. It compares with the Nokia, without the size. I highly recomend the Siemens S56.

All well and good but it seems these are personal opinions and I am always willing to bet that for absolutely every phone on the market, you will have people whose mileage may vary.
But if one truly reviews these links, you will find that 1) the first link didn't appear to be very negative at all and that 2) the second link is for the T600 phone which is not the T616 phone. When I searched that site for a T616 phone, while the biggest complaint was low earpiece volume (A definite personal opinion as far as my experience goes), the point the reviewer made about the T616 and RF performance was this:
"I wasn’t expecting much in terms of RF performance, since most Sony-Ericsson models of late have been very poor in this regard. However, I am happy to report that the T616 is a big improvement over those earlier designs, but I am simultaneously unhappy to report that it still falls short of excellence."
"Big improvement," sounds good to me - "falls short of excellence," well, not much these days doesn't fall short of excellence, IMHO. So this site, in the long run, is noting a clear improvement regarding the T616. Admittedly I may have come across as commenting on Sony phones in general before, but I did specifically mention my experience was with the T616 so that was the phone I was discussing the performance of in my original post. And it does seem that plenty of people are noting the clear improvements with this phone.
Thus, I stand by my assertion that T-Mobile, here in NYC, along with the T616 SE phone, has very good RF performance and excellent audio quality. Highly recommended.

I'm using the T616 and it's pretty small and light. I take that with my CLIE every where I go.

I had a T68i and loved the phone for the features that it had for its size. I especially loved the long battery life. It would last for a ridiculously long time.
Unfortunately I was hit by the common problem that the T68s and T68is have...losing signal. It got great reception for the firat 6 moinths or so...but after that it got worse and worse until it was completely useless. Apparently its a fairly common problem (found this out when I searched aony phone problems for fixes). My final fix for the problem? Switching back to a Nokia phone. I ended up with a Nokia 6310i and it is awesome. The reception is awesome and its a great phone. (missing the color screen and its a little bigger...but I can actually make calls on it and it isn't a brick)
I highly recomend the Nokia 6310i. A great phone.
