In theory, I should be able to transfer movie teasers from this site (http://www.apple.com/trailers/) to the PEG-NR70V using Picture Gear Lite.

In practise, my PC thinks it is performing an illegal operation, and closes the program.

I can't help thinking I am missing something obvious... :(

Any hints?

You would need TMPGENC (http://www.pegasys-inc.com/e_main.html) to convert them first.

Thanks for the link, but I loaded the trial software (full version, 15 days for free) and it doesn't recognise the file types used with Quicktime...

Beginning to sound like the house that Jack built...

I used TMPGEnc regularly and it should work with all of those trailers you saw. I tried a couple myself.

At the risk of asking a stupid question, do you have Quicktime installed? I have version 6 installed and I can convert the movies fine.

Also, I use Kinoma for converting and viewing files for the Clie.

Good luck.

Yes, what brahamt said is what I usually do too.
Use TMPGEnc to convert any mpegs, then use Kinoma Producer for the final conversion.

Yes, I have quicktime, and it is installed. I'll try again.

Thanks.

One other place you might try for help on this and other video issues in general is www.vcdhelp.com.

I do a lot of video on the computer and this site is great for capture, encoding, conversion, decoding, etc. issues.

I thought Picture Gear could convert Quicktime? Sorry, been using Kinoma for so long I haven't played with PG lately.

Anyway, the BEST solution for movies on the Clie is Kinoma.

BTW: Why convert with Tmpgenc before Kinoma? Kinoma can convert Quicktime directly.

I was just thinking this after i posted....Kinoma works well with quicktime files. I just converted the Animatrix today. I think Kinoma is more buggy when converting non-quicktime movies. (avi's, mpeg's and such)
