so, I was wondering, for those of you who actually use the clie launcher...... It was built arround the idea of a sidemounted jog dial, so how well do you suppose will it work with a front mounted jog dial? After all, i do not believe the front mounted jog dial is very condusive to one handed operation...

Being left handed, the position of the jog dial in all the clie's has been inconvenient for me to use... the front center mount would place the jog dial in a more neutral position that could be used by both a right and left handed consumer without bias to left or right hand operation.... JM2C

Well, it's just like using the up/down buttons on a standard Clie or using a 5-way nav on a Palm. I end up holding my Clie with three fingers across the back, pinky finger at the bottom for support, and thumb using the up/down buttons. Not nearly as convienant as having the jog dial on the side, but it does allow for a side-mounted flip cover.
The one major problem with this new layout is the lack of a back button. Only the very oldest Clies (the S-series) haven't included a back button. Even the deformed UX button layout includes a back button. At least they upped the amount of RAM to a competitive level...
