Just got the latest issues of HHC and they had an article rating all the most popular launchers. They prefaced it by saying that this was one category that had a LOT of excellent programs. Well, I sure was ticked off after reading it, you'd never guess what their lowest rated one was? ZLauncher!! Okay, they did give it a B, but they gave LX, ML, SS, and even YiShow higher ratings! Their main complaint was the cluttered interface which yes, is a bit much at first, but you can totally configure it to be non-cluttered! Never mind the tons of other features that make it such a killer app. They mentioned some of them, but guess they don't count as much as looking pretty. Makes me wonder if they spent more than an hour with each one. I guess simplicity is most important to some people.

Yeah, a lot of people were unhappy with the review. Here's another thread on it.

Okay, thanks! I looked to see if there was any other threads on it, guess I didn't look far enough back. My mail must be a tad slow!

Although, I have to admit that their point is somewhat valid in that "out of the box", ZLauncher can be ugly and intimidating. Only after you read the manual and play with it and tweak it for a whiledo you finally learn how to tailor it to your specific needs. It's probably the most "powerful" of any launchers available, but it's not the most user-friendly (until it gets tweaked.)

BTW, ZLauncher is my launcher of choice.

I wish they'd change the defaults to make not so much show on install. I honestly think it scares people away. And the red icon font? What is UP with THAT?

I guess Zlauncher is like datebk5 and the others are like Agendus, looking pretty at first, but lacking a looot compared (hey, that rimes...)

I must have been reading your mind as I was going to say the same thing after seeing the couple of threads in the forum.

It really is not drastically life altering if some of the population does not love the same launcher you do.
