A couple of days ago I got a WiFi card for my NZ, but now I hit a bump in the road. My WiFi after installing, and making all the settings basic on my linksys and setting up the connection, says:

connecting...
connecting to wireless,
connecting to network,
retrying,
then it fails.

I decided to take it to the Sony store to decide if it was a hardware issue with my router or the card. The guy takes it, trys connecting to the Stores wireless, and is up in 2 seconds. He tells me the basics as if I was a idiot.

I decided it was my router, so I replaced mine with the same model, except totally new, it still doesnt work! Anyone have this problem before? Or know the solution? Thanks.

The wireless forum is the best place to post your wireless questons... the very first post may solve your problem...

I'm using a Linksys router at home and have no problem so far.
We need more info. on your settings, both the router and the NZ, here in order to figure out what goes wrong.

Try resetting both!

I couldn't get mine to connect to save my life either. Then I hard coded and IP and it worked just fine. Seems it was differences in handling the DHCP protocol. But the newer driver update helps it recognize my Linksys WiFi at home a lot better, and some of the ones here at work. Try either of those options.

Right, I can't connect on any of the 4 Clies here with the PowerSaveMode checked. Yes, we're using Linksys!!!

Try turning PowerSave off in your network settings. I used to get that "retrying" message a lot. Now, I never get it anymore.

Hope that helps

After fiddling around, I decided to input the IP manually, and VOOLA it worked :)

I tried for days to get the connection to work. The Netgear router would see the NZ90, but the NZ90 could not AIM, Surf or Ping. I tried ever option on these lists and got nothing. Finally I enabled 64 bit encryption (had tried none and 128) then it immediately it worked. Tested again with 128 and none with same settings. Got no surf again. 64 bit. worked. shared key. hope this helps someone else as I was about to ditch the card.
