I'm a Mac user who just bought my first PDA - a Clie T665C. I installed the Palm Desktop software onto my Mac & I've done a couple of Hot Synchs. How does the Clie Desktop software differ from Palm Desktop?
I've grabbed & installed .prc files from the Sony CD, but what's the attraction of Clie Desktop?

As an XP Pro and OS X user, I have noticed *no* differences between Palm Desktop and Clié Desktop for PC. Of course, there is no Clié Desktop for Mac, but Palm works fine.

If there's no difference between Palm Desktop & Clie Desktop, what's the need for Missing Synch? What does Missing Synch offer that Palm Desktop doesn't?

I said there is no difference for the *PC* versions that I could see. Clié Desktop is a PC-only app.
AFAIK, Missing Sync is required by *some* Cliés to sync with OS X. There are numerous threads here that address which ones, I am sure.

IIRC, Missing Sync is also a must if you want to transfer files directly to and from the Memory Stick. Otherwise, you have to do it on the Clie, which implies having enough free space to move the files around.
BTW, I have a Clie 615 that has absolutely no problem syncing to Palm Desktop on OS X (I don't use a Memory Stick, however).
