I've converted all of the BMW Films into Clie format using Kinoma. I would gladly share these with everyone, however I lack the space on my web server. They total about 256MB. If someone has the space, and would like to host them for me, let me know. You can supply me with the login info for your ftp and I'll upload them somenight. If not, I guess Kazaa is gonna have to be the answer...

Serve your files on the IRC Clie channel.
Join by doing the following:
1. Get an IRC client such as mIRC from www.mirc.com
2. type: /server irc.autobotnation.com
3. type /join #clie

If you don't know how to share (or don't want to), you can send them to me in that irc channel and I will serve it for you (my nickname is iebnn there). If you don't know how to and want to share there, I can help you set up an fserve script

Cool, I too would like to see The Follow. I'm a Wong Kar-Wai fan.

The original file that I downloaded is about 70MB...I doubt that I'll be posting that for download on my site. I suggest trying Kazaa to download the original file. That's where I found it at.

My site is active again, and I've added ALL of the BMW Films to the downloads section, formatted for NR-series. Enjoy!

I have downloaded a bunch of the BMW films, and wanted to make NX versions of them to play on my Clie. The registered version of Kinoma Producer 1.5 refuses to convert these files, claiming they are copyrighted by the author. How did you get around this when creating the NR versions?
Thanks In Advance,
Lgforce

Did you download the Quicktime versions or the WMV versions? I downloaded the WMV, then used TMPEGenc to convert them to MPG, then Kinoma Producer to go to PDB. Let me know if this helps!

I downloaded the quicktimes. I'll give it another shot with the wmvs and let you know how it goes. Thanks!
Cheers,

Yeah the quicktimes are copy-protected somehow, and unless you have Quicktime Pro, as well as the password for the media itself, you can't convert it. Fortunately, Microsoft products are much easier to manipulate:-)

Actually Apple as a freely available utility that allows you to remove the appropriate bytes to convert the MOV with Kinoma, Image Converter, etc. The utility is called Dumpster. I used it to convert all the BMW films (at least the ones that were protected) to Kinoma Format. Here's the link for those interested:

You'll have to do some homework...just use Google and type in using dumpster.exe
Cheers!

Thanks for the link. I'm a little unclear as to why Apple would release an app to remove the copy protection on MOV files though...That's more a job for 3rd party developers, not the companies who actually license their own proprietary format.
