Hi,

I work on a site where the ssid of the wifi-networks is not broadcasted. Will it be possible to enter the ssid somewhere in the UX to make it connect to the network?

You should be able to, although at times you may have trouble connecting. Using static settings may help in that case. Some of it depends on the WAP equipment itself. I can't give you a list of those that may work better than others.

My network does not broadcast SSID and spots WEP as well. Works with no problems on my UX-50 using manual configure.

You have to go into Network Preferences > Details> then either click the top of the screen or hit the menu button to pull down the menu. From there type select NEW. This gives you a blank screen to enter the SSID/WEP stuff -- IF YOU KNOW IT. ( I had the same problem at work -- No WEP, but no broadcast SSID either... -- someone even tried to tell me that it was shut down...)

Then it is retained. If you are switching from work to home networks, you'll have to remember to go to Network Preferences>Details to select the appropriate SSID at that time...

I've got a Linksys wifi router and I had to turn on broadcasting so that my UX would connect. I'm utilizing WEP as well and it just coudn't make the connection. (Yes I had entered all the info) I then turned off the broadcast to confirm it wouldn't connect. Turned it back on and voila!

It seems WEP, or no WEP, my clie prefers the unit to broadcast, at least for my setup.

As for switching networks do the following:
Preferences > Network > Details > and select "Auto Connect"

My UX-50 connects fine to my Linksys 802.11g/b access point. I turned on SSID broadcast to make things easier to set up but it's off now and working fine. I have 64 bit WEP turned on.
