How can you stop it playing continuous, ie one clip after the other? Is it possible at all?

Go to Prefs in movieplayer and uncheck repeat playback

Er, no. Thanks for the reply but I mean it plays each movie clip in turn one after the other. So it just runs through the list. If I play clip 3 then clip 4 (in the list) plays directly afterwards.

I don't think it's possible.

disable repeat playback. mine now plays clip 2 after clip 1 is over. all my clips are in MoviePlayer Format and not MPEG.

MV he doesn't want it to do that. He wants it to stop after it plays one clip. Right.

If you disable repeat playback in the options, it will play clip 1, then clip 2, then clip 3, etc. If you leave repeat playback enabled, it will play clip 1 over and over.

There is not a way to just play a single clip and then stop without manually stopping it.

There are two things I would like to see the Movie Player do. First is, as the original poster wanted, the ability to have a clip play once and STAY frozen on the last frame. Second, my never-ending quest for the ability to step through a video clip frame by frame.

Thanks for trying to help though guys. As always, much appreciated. Alas it seems it's not possible.

I don't think it's quite as needed as the CF driver campaign, otherwise we could start our own counter campaign Joe! :p
