Try Kinoma player and producer. You can't use the Sony's movie player on the NR (OS 5 compatible only).

Yes, it's possible. I've read posts on the Video foreum where people have done so.... the trick is the limitation of the 128meg stick and playing with the size and frame-rate using Kinoma Producer to pack it down.

don't expect it to look very pretty though.

I HAVE SEEN SOME KINOMA MOVIES IN THE VIDEO FORUM. SOME OF THE TRAILERS ARE INCREDIBLE. THE PICTURE IS GREAT AND SO IS THE SOUND. ALSO TO FIT A MOVIE YOU MIGHT NEED A MEDIA STICK LARGER THAN 128MB. I HAVE SEEN UP TO 512MB AT
COMPUSA. SEE IF THAT IS AVAILABLE ONLINE.

For the NR series, Kinoma is the only real choice. gMovie and Teal Movie just don't have the quality of Kinoma.

The NR series also has a limitation of 128MB for Memory Sticks. You can't use the new MS Pro format. Although there is the MS "Select" which is basically two 128MB sticks in one, with a switch to select between them.

Working within the limitation of 128MB (123.6MB formated), you can get about 20 minutes of excellent video (impressive to watch), or 40 minutes of good video (generally looks good, but some blur and pixelization, especially on high motion scenes), or 80-90 minutes of "watchable" video (clear enough to see what's going on most of the time, but leaves a lot to be desired).

From the above it should be apparent that short films or TV episodes (less commercials) can be done on a single stick at a quality level that will still be enjoyable.

However, full length movies really should be split over at least 2 sticks (or both sides of an MS Select).

For more information, take a look in the "Video" forum. Check out the thread entitled "Kinoma Videos - Come getcha some" for some videos I've done, and information on how do convert your own.
