Network UserName

My ISP, in its wisdom, has a ridiculously long Username (34 characters).

I believe the network prefs user name field is limited to 30 characters -well put it this way I can't enter anything past the 30th character.

Is this true or am I being dumb?

If it is true are there any tools to get round this problem (other than switch isp)???

I'm not sure how you'd handle this if you are using a wireless lan card or a modem. But if you are using bluetooth then you don't need to enter a username or password.
