Hardware (includes PDA) $541.88

Total $1,085.38

:eek: :eek: :eek: Wow!

P.S. This thread has "Spouse blocker" invoked, so fear not your honesty!! :eek:

Unfortunately I've spent more than twice that much. $1000 for PDA's, $800+ for software and $500 in accessories. $200 in e-books.

I'd rather not think about it :)

Funny, I was thinking about that this morning because I was thinking about upgrading my SJ30 to the SJ33. I have only spent about $200 on accessories and software but I've only had this since Christmas. I hope this isn't an indication of how things are going to go:)

The current system is probably at about $1k with hardware, software, and service plan. Prior to that, probably about $500 total on my first PDA, stylii, and software I no longer use.

Hey, I use my Clie at my house, so it *should* be a household expense, right? :) The gas one is good too, though!!

This is how much I spent in the past 3 years:

PDA: $1300 (Palm IIIx trade for TRGPro, two clies)
Accessaries: $500
Software: $200

Total: $2000

Fortunately I got my employer to pay for my NV70V.

I wasn't going to reply, but since "spouse blocker" is on...

After a quick scan of SplashID (where I keep all of my software registration/license info, including what I paid):

~$500 in software and accessories (over $400 in software)
~$500 for two PDAs (after some rebates and price drops)

So about $1,000 total

Here's my spending since I joined the PDA world in mid December

T665=$550
Software=$9
Accessories=$90

The prices are all in Canadian money.

I have bought a new PDA every year since 1996, starting with the original Pilot 5000. So just in PDAs I've spent $3k, plus keyboards (at least 3, as the model connectors have changed), so there's another $300. Plus sync cables, emergency chargers - another $100. And then there is the software.

Way too much!

Great minds stink alike! ;)  I never totaled it up because it IS scary and I don't even spend as much as some of you folks.  But to tell my ungeek spouse what I have actually spent? ha!  Not gonna happen.:o  But to be fair, he does get more than his fair share in car parts. :)

Hmmm. My PDA's (all three: HP 320LX, Visor Deluxe, and Sony Nx70v) have been gifts from family or friends.
(Okay fine, since this is spousal blocked it should be parent blocked, too. My dad gave the first and last of those to me when I asked for them as MAJOR gifts. Think like birthday and xmas or booming economy bonus)
Software - $25 for Datebook 4 which conveniently upgraded for free to 5
planning on using my webcertificate from mypoints on isilo.
Acessories - $20 for two sony pda screen protectors.
$50 for the 128 lexar memory stick in clear purple, which works wonderfully, BTW. Incidentally, it's made in Singapore. Are other people's MS's from there?
Things I want to get: covertec case (if anyone has a red nx70v one they want to sell, lemme know... seeing as you guys seem to have boughten everything). Stylus pen and/or just a replacement tip once I find my rotring quattro.
Maybe a scratch remover liquid for my screen protector seeing as each one is $10.

Being a student I don't have nearly that much money to waste. :D I got my first PDA in April of 2002 and so far have bought:

T415 - $220
Extra Cradle - $50
128MB Memory Stick - $50
Student 4.0 - $15
Scrabble - $30

Total - $365 (a dollar a day for a year) :D

parmesian
02-07-2003, 02:03 PM
if we are talking just about the current pda it would be $20.
my nx70v was an upgrade when the battery in my nr70v stopped keeping a charge. Just a quick trip to best buy and the extended service plan did the rest. everything i currently use transfered from my nr70v with the exception of splashphoto (which i didn't have before).

HOWEVER....

if we are to look at all pda purchases since i bought my first palm pilot it looks much different. i have had several different models (palm pilot, palm pilot professional, palm III, palm IIIxe, palm Vx, kyocera 6035 smartphone, clie nr70v) and just in hardware i have spent over $3k.
Accessories are big also. With all the extra cradles, car chargers, travel chargers, memory, keyboards, gps modules, etc. it is around $1.5k.
Software comes in last with only around $1k (if i didn't buy games it would be almost nothing).

if i add my wifes pda to the list the total goes up another $200 (she really doesn't understand why anyone needs more than 2mb of ram).

Special message to my wife: Honey, I didn't really spend this much on all this without telling you. I'm just trying to impress my geek friends. :-)

Wow, this would be hard to calculate. A good rough estimate is that since I got a Visor Deluxe as a gift from my dad in February 2001, I easily spent around $2000 on the devices themselves (a Visor Platinum and my current Clie NR70V), accessories, and software.

T-665C = $399
CASES = $150
Software = $200
Hardware = $250

So with tax/shipping it is over $1000 easily.

Note on the cases: I have tried to find a snugly fitting belt case that allows the clie to sit on its side so I have access to the controls and headphone jack. Haven't found one yet so I have settled on the metal case.

Yes we know we all could have bought laptops for this money. WE DON'T CARE!

The above only included my post-Clie purchases: after reading the previous posts, I suppose I should include my Palm IIIe, PalmIIIxe, Palm IIIc, Targus Keyboard, Kodak Palm Pix camera, Cross Palm pen, too many packages of WriteRights, replacement styli, etc. Let's see that should add up to...

On second thought, never mind.
