Since it's been almost a week since my original announcement, I thought I'd update everyone on where things stand.

I've successfully modified Pocket TV Manager to download listings from the new provider, using a test server. The next step will be for me to test it against their "live" server, once they put some changes into place. They tell me those changes may be done today. Since there's bound to be some additional changes on both ends, I wouldn't expect a new download for you to try until early next week.

To answer some questions that have been posted here:

* The provider does have listings for both Canada and U.S. I don't think they currently have any coverage outside those areas though, so if you were a Pocket TV Browser in one of the International areas covered by tvguide.com (eg, Mexico), I don't have a work-around for you at this time.
* I'll let you know who the provider is once my relationship with them has been sufficiently tested and formalized
* The upcoming version (1.60) should still work with TV Grid Listings (TVGL). You're welcome to pass on any problems you have with TVGL, and I'll see what I can do, but bear in mind that that's not my product, and that maintaining database compatibility with it will not always be possible.
* As to "what the service will be like" (eg, breadth of coverage, quality of listings, etc), that will be for you to decide (and comment on here). It won't cost you anything to simply check out it during their trial period.
* I don't have an ETA for a V2.0 release of Pocket TV Browser, let alone a feature set, upgrade pricing, etc. My focus right now is getting V1 working again. For all I know, V2 may be free as well. That will be discussed later, in a separate forum topic.
* There will be differences in the listing content from what you're used to seeing with TV Guide; in the short term, there won't be any support for integrated movie reviews, but there is some additional information available that I'll probably be adding support for (eg, original airdate), in a follow-on release (say, 1.61).
* There won't be any advertising in this release.

Hope that answers most questions for now. I'm sure the next release will answer the rest, and probably generate a few more.
Thanks,
Jeff:D
