View Full Version : Simple suggestion for skins section

I've been a lurker here since 2001 (joined as a member a little later) and have enjoyed cliesource for the community and the resources it provides.
In my observation it seems that the skins and background files section needs some housekeeping, or at least some reorganization. When looking for skins in the zlauncher folder, I find that a great percentage of those "skins" are actually just backgrounds.
Is there an easy and simple way to separate backgrounds from skins to make finding either type more efficient? Does anyone agree?
No biggie, just wondering...

Yes Cliesource does have ZL themes or "skins" but the point I tried to make was that they are intermixed with backgrounds, and the number of backgrounds tends to drownd the skins and make them very labor intensive to browse.
I guess it only bothers me, oh well I can live with it :)

I agree... takes so long to search through to find a skin.... not a background. I havent found cliesource to be very effective at all to find skins despite their being lots of them here.

You search cliesource for skins, and end up sorting through 100`s of pages of backgrounds: Not the Same thing. I gave up after looking through the first dozen or so pages in the zlauncher section and finding way too many backgrounds.... a lot of which are just from the web and only resized. So you get a background that works with any launcher in the zlauncher section etc.
The zlauncher section is good example... on the first dozen pages there are only a couple of skins.

This has been discussed for a while now. I'd love to see it finally fixed: backgrounds sorted by size... and in their own category (i.e., not all buried under YiShow or ZLauncher) ... and separated from skins/themes.

I see what tixx has done with the search link he listed, very handy!
But again, my point remains that the cliesource skin section has way more backgrounds in it than actual skins or themes. Wouldn't it be nice to separate them?
And by the way, before anyone else calls me on it, I have to admit that I started this thread in the wrong forum. I guess I should have stayed a lurker :rolleyes: .

Use a graphics program (like ThumbsPlus or IrfanView) to resize them.
