I just got my SJ30 as a present from my brother but he found out from my girlfriend that I wanted a new PDA to replace my Visor Prism. I was going to wait for the faster processors to come down in price a little, but received this from my brother. I think it has the same processor as my Visor Prism but the screen seems a lot clearer and so far seems more pleasant to use.

If I had the money, I'd probably get a new one more often (perhaps every few new models) but that's just not very economical for me... I have an SJ20 and just purchased it about a month ago. Unfortunately, I bought it at the wrong time, as the new SJ models are just about to come out with the about the same price but better ! : ( However, I still intend to wait till my model completely breaks before I purchase a new one.

When they release an OS5 CLIE in the T or SJ form factor (without built in mini keyboard like the TG50's or NR/NX/NZ series). It also has to have virtual graffiti and better battery life.

Only if they have a clie with a built in TV tuner and they don't release a TV tuner MS.

yeah, what he said.
seriously -- these are my exact criteria for my next PDA. that garmin ique is looking kinda tempting, but i don't actually need a gps device. so, i'm holding on to my sj30 until someone makes something pretty much exactly fitting the description above. no need for mp3 or remote control or even polyphonic alarms. 320x480, sj30 form factor, OS5. oh, and decent buttons.

It would also be nice to have built in BT capabilities.

My upgrade will be from a Palm IIIxe directly to the Clie TG50.
My reasons for skipping the SJ33 are simple:
1. Voice recorder
2. Bluetooth
Color etc are assumed to be desired, but those are the specific features that will make me spend $100 more on this device vs. the SJ33.
The only problem is that I think I can't plug in an external microphone... I might rig up a microphone jack. A quality external microphone makes any mediocre voice recorder shine. My microphone is worth its weight in gold.
Rest assured, I'll keep my IIIxe for data entry when I don't want too much attention. It's hard to beat the IIIxe's ruggedness, battery life, and the lack of wow factor of the Clie for high speed notes taking.

Wiseleo,
Have you heard the voice recorder on the NX/NZ's? It's really good IMO and I don't think I would notice a difference if an external mic could be used. I imagine the TG-50 will have the same mic.

cbulock,
The mic I have is an Audio-technica ATR97 http://www.audio-technica.com/guide/line/atr/ATR97.html
It picks up whispers from about 15 feet away. My recordings are extremely clear. I doubt the built-in mic would do that well. :-)
I know how to add jacks to electronics anyway, so it shouldn't be that difficult to add this feature.

I'll be getting my first when the SJ33 gets released in the UK, anyone know how long I have to wait?
