Hi,
My n760 sometimes have hotsynch problem. The message is unable to initiate hotsynch operatin because the port is in use by another application. Any suggestion to solve this problem? thanks.

What OS are you running on your PC?
I have the same problem sometimes hotsyncing my N760C with my windows XP Pro machine.
When I experience this problem I can reboot my PC and then Hotsync & MSImport work perfectly again.

My computer OS is XP home. Even after reboot, I still have the hotsynch problem. My solution right now is to unplug the cable to the cradle and re plug again. Sometime, this can solve the problem but most of the time it can not.

I was unable to hotsync after reboot also.
I started looking at the items running in my system tray, in case something was interferring. I started shutting down or closing items one by one and then trying to hotsync.
Whoala! After shutting down "FlashPath" which was running in my system tray I was able to hotsync again.
You may not have FlashPath, but you never know what might be interferring or have hold of your USB port.
Any items you cannot close in your system tray can be stopped from running during start up by doing the following.
Click "start", "run", then type "msconfig" and press OK, the configuration manager will open. Click the "start up" tab at the top of the box. This will show you a list of items that start automatically on boot up. Uncheck any items (non-system) that you do not want to start automatically and reboot.

I have the same problem using windows 98. I've tried looking for a program that can be causing a conflict but until now, the only thing that works (and only sometimes) is plugging/unplugging the cord.
Maxcasio, if you do find the root cause of the problem, please post it!

I'm getting the same message from the laptop when trying
to hotsync. Original Clie Desktop isn't on the laptop because
CD was missing. Will
