It's built into the NX series.

Not only is it built-in, but it may not work on other units, even if it could be copied.

It works fine on my NR. Someone posted a link to NX apps awhile back and many of us downloaded and tried out a few. Clie Memo was one of the few NX apps to work well on my Clie.

If you PM me with your e-mail address, I'll send you CLIEMemo.prc.

BTW, here are the difference between CLIEMemo (CM) and NotePad1.7 (NP):
Size: 305 KB for CM, 56KB for NP
Alarm: No for CM, Yes for NP
Color: 256 for CM, NP is limited to 1 out of 15 for pen and for background (e.g., blue pen on yellow paper type choice)

For me, I rather have NotePad for just writing note, plus it has alarm to flag you to read the free-hand written note.  You can write "WAKE UP!" that fits the whole screen size.  If I want to draw something, I rather use CLIEPaint or Memoru.  I put CLIEMemo in MS just for curiosity to see how it works in my slow OS (33MHz).  You can't draw fast with it.  The line gets pretty blocky.

Is this legal to do? There is also BugMe!

No, but I've noticed ClieSource has become WarezFanSource.

Editted- Had brain fart, entered CliePlanet instead of Clie Source, sorry!

Ok, I don't go there, nor do I intend too. Sony recently stated that they do read emails in ClieSource, Thanks!

Thanks everyone,

Now that I know it is not a replacement for memo, I do not need it. I was mistaken by the naming convention used.

thanks again

"No, but I've noticed CliePlanet has become WarezFanPlanet."

How on earth do you come to that conclusion?

Go to one of the warez threads. Though not everyone, just a large portion of people here believe warez is okay and have some excuse for using them. Even this thread it seems people have no problem giving out copyrighted software to anyone who provides an e-mail address.

Show me a warez thread on Clie Planet- I saw only one the other day and deleted it.

Someone just emailed me- did you mean Clie Source (not Clie Planet)?

I have never heard of people advocating the use of warez here at CliéSource. Maybe some trolls, or such, have but not many.

And CliéMemo on the T615 is not worth it. Notepad is the way to go since it allows syncing with the desktop software.

Shaun, I'm sorry, I meant ClieSource.

I haven't seen any warez stuff on CliePlanet.

OK! I slap my head a couple of times for my ignorance. So now if I have CLIE and want a CLIE ROM app, LEGALLY, would some one please tell me where to get it? Should I ask Sony to sell me the CLIE app? Why would nXTCLIE club provides its member with CLIE app then?  For those of you who do not own NX or Palm, how did you get CLIEMemo or NotePad in your CLIE?

I guess you need to buy the new Clie to get the app(legally). The NX has ClieMemo, but not on the NR. I have two VAIO PC's and Sony won't let me add apps from one to the other. In order to get the better apps, Sony wants you to spend the money. I don't make the rules and I am sorry to have brought up the question. I haven't paid attention to the nXtClie Club's policy. Although if someone wants a driver for the Sony WiFi card, if they have the card, then they are entitled to the driver, if not, then the driver is useless to them.
